The pros: I love the idea of having devices in my main rooms that I can use to get information and set reminders and make announcements and keep an eye on the cat cameras and security cameras. This has replaced my bedroom alarm clock and lets me get my significant other's attention when we're in separate rooms. The cons: - Primarily I was looking into this for my elderly parents. It's very difficult to set up for someone else to take home and use. I can't say it's good for this purpose because it does in fact require a mobile device to set up and periodically to keep using. I really wish that there was a fully-fledged Alexa web app to use for managing the device so I could help them remotely. - I wish there was a better interface for selecting music and video. I was able to hook up the network drive that has my music, but I can't figure out how to pick what I want to play. - The Blink cameras have a delay, and viewing them for more than a short period requires an ongoing subscription. Love the Blink products I purchased. Only thing it doesn't have is ability to arm each device separately. When I'm home I want the doorbell notifications on but not the other cameras. Have to go in and change settings on each camera. Would be better if each camera had it's own arm/disarm trigger in the app Video and audio are clear. Love this system. I’m at a point where I buy Echo’s just because it’s new. I’ve noticed that the mic doesn’t always pick up the Wakeup word. I will test out the other words and see. Read more
