I love these. You get 8 of them, and they are very versatile. By that, I mean you get the solar light head unit, and a pole where you can choose either to use the full length of it, or leave out one section and the light is closer to the ground. But not only that, you could simply just use the head unit for ANY lighting. Set them out in the sun, then simply flip it over and you have solar powered light for any use. Think a porch setting and being able to set these up around you for lighting, think camping, think power outages. This is a very practical kit. For us, these units last a long time. I've seen another comment saying they need full sun. That has not been my experience. We have them set where sun is not always on them, and my wife states that they are still on in the morning when she takes the dog out. That's a long time. My only issue would be the cost. These do appear to be at the higher end of the 8 pack solar light spectrum. While I do not have any issues with their quality, I will say the poles are just a simple lightweight plastic, and of course the head units are just plastic too. I would imagine that they all are, but then the problem is that there are others that are cheaper. How long they last though, would be the question. In our experience, these last a long time, and I feel good about their quality. However, if I had to buy another set of 8, I might consider others at this price. Read more

I was so happy about these. They look nice, they were so easy to put together, and just as easy to get in the ground. I specifically placed them along a path in our yard that gets a lot of sun during the day. Day one, no light happened. I figured I'd set them up later in the afternoon, so maybe they didn't have enough of a charge. Day two, no light. Maybe I missed the switches for some reason, even though I thought I did, but all was well on that end. Day three, still no light. Maybe they're not getting as much sun as I thought? I take one and move it to an entirely empty spot in our yard with zero shade, and lo and behold, light! So I moved all of them to another location that, while not ideal for a pretty pathway or driveway light, would get them an intense level of sun exposure. After that, they work great. But all that said, $60 for lights that need extreme sun exposure to work just doesn't hit the great product mark. If you have a driveway or pathway that gets nonstop sun during the day, these will be a perfect fit for you, but outside of those conditions I could not get them to work. Read more

These 8 solar lights were exactly what I needed for my outside landscaping area. I live in a condo and only have a short front yard area so 8 was perfect. They were very simple to set up, each piece individual. The actual lights themselves using every piece are very tall! I opted to only use one of the base pieces each because that is my personal preference. The lights worked right away. I turned them on in the house while I was using them and the solar sensors are sensitive - they would light up just by putting my hand against them or taking them into the dark bathroom. So from the box they already had some charge. I put them outside the next day. Unfortunately its only been a few overcast days so I cant say for sure but I think one of the lights is starting to struggle but the other 7 work great. As for durability I've only had one other set of outdoor lights and these seem the same quality. They are plastic but it doesn't feel like cheap or flimsy plastic. I think they will hold up. I was less confident when using two base pieces for the full height the connector did not feel strong so be aware. It could possibly blow over in higher winds. I think I'll be okay going for short. I think they're a great way to add a classy look to your landscaping at night. I would say yes its a value for your money. Thank you. Read more
