I purchased these to use in my music studio. They're slightly smaller than standard egg shakers, but still have a strong sound to them (or the sound can be dampened by holding more of the shaker within your hand). The seam where the two parts of the plastic egg are fused together looks to be strong so I don't anticipate them being easily broken with extended use. Overall, I'm happy with these egg shakers!
