Functionally - this works as a USB v3 HUD, fed from a USB-C port to a USB-c port, two USB-A (v3) ports, a full size SecureDigital "SD" card reader and a MicroSD "Trans Flash" sized card reader. (You can't use both sized cards simultaneously, but you can use a card reader and the other 3 USB ports at the same time.) There is no external power input, but the back end USB-C line to your computer/laptop can carry quite a bit of power that the hub can distribute to the front facing USB A and C ports. I used this and found excellent USB v3 speeds throughout, shared of course when I had two drives connected and in use together. This is made to be mounted and also used as a portable! The mounting plate can be secured with included screws, or double-sided adhesive tape, and the hub slides into this. The hub can also simply be stuck on it's top side against an iron frame of your table or desk. While the magnets do hold the hub in place, if there were long heavy cables connected to it, I fear they would be able to drag the hub off being too heavy for the magnetic mount. (when the slide-in top mount is used, the hub is very firmly in place (sliding out only to one side) and 4 heavy long cables to all the USB ports would not be a worry. The magnets would hold even better if this was made of lightweight plastic, but I think I prefer the unit as it is - rather solid and durable feeling of good construction! Two USB-A to USB-C cables are included of different lengths to help with your cable management. You do not have to use one of these between the hub and your computer or laptop; if you have a good USB-C to C cable and your computer has a USB-C port, it can be used too. Read more

I got this magnetic-mount USB Hub from Ejay. I have wanted a hub like this mounted on the edge of my office desk. I tried a clamp-type but my desk is too think for it. I like that this one comes with a mounting plate that has held securely to the edge of the desk with the included double-sided silicone tape. It can be screw-mounted if you desire, but I didn't want to drill into my desk unless it was necessary. So far, it's been a few weeks of use and the tape is sufficient. The hub the slides into the mount and holds in place with a set of magnets. It's nice and sturdy and has performed well. I use the USB-A (for syncing iPhone) and TF ports most often. I haven't had to run extra power to the hub for what I've done. It's nice to know I can add that if needed. The USB-C cable they include is thick and a good length to reach the back of my Windows 11 PC. It does have a blue LED that is constantly on, even if the PC is asleep. I could live without the LED, but it's not a huge deal. This isn't the cheapest device I've seen, but it is good quality and I like how it mounts to the desk. I'm happy with it. Read more

I received the EJAY 5-in-1 magnetic USB 3.0 hub and couldn’t be happier with it! I popped a 512GB micro SD card into the reader and use the magnet to stick it securely onto the back of my second portable monitor—makes my entire travel gaming setup so much more organized. The magnets are strong and won’t slide around, even in a moving vehicle or tight hotel workspace. Connectivity is excellent: both USB-A ports, the USB-C port, and the card slots work smoothly at high speed. File transfers—from big game libraries and video recordings—fly by thanks to reliable 5Gbps USB 3.0 speeds. The aluminum housing dissipates heat well, so I have no worries about thermal issues even when I’m gaming or streaming for hours. With the included sliding rail and sticky pads, I can easily move or reposition the hub whenever I adjust my screens or change hotel desks. This hub is ideal for anyone who travels with a gaming laptop and dual monitors—it streamlines setup, adds storage, and keeps everything neat. If you want versatility and reliability for your portable gaming rig, this EJAY hub nails it. Highly recommended for mobile creators and gamers! Read more

This EJAY USB hub is fast, convenient, and thoughtfully designed. It offers wide connectivity compatibility and installs easily while maintaining a clean, professional look. The metal build feels high quality, and the magnets are strong - I’ve tested it both on the included rail and directly on metal components of my desk, and it stays securely in place given its lightweight aluminum construction. Data transfer speeds are quick and reliable, and the built-in card reader makes it easy to offload photos. I also appreciate that it includes both USB-C and USB-A connections for backward compatibility. While it’s a bit pricey for a USB hub, the durable build and flexible mounting options make it a worthwhile choice if you want a long-term solution. Read more

I was looking for a solid option for a USB-C hub and found it. This has a pass through USB-C port, two USB 3.0 ports and an SD card and TF (micro SD) slot readers. There is a blue light letting you know it has power and is running. The magnetic option is interesting. It allows you to just attach it to a metal surface and it should just stay - see photo of it attached solidly to my fridge. Of course you can use the included mounting plate and screws or sticky adhesive to make a more solid attachment point. The mount plate has slots on it so it is very solidly attached and you have to slide it off the end of the plate to get it to disconnect. Functionally it works very well as a USB hub and has full port speeds. No issues there. If you are powering power-hungry usb devices, it includes an extra USB-C to A cable that can be used to boost the input power capacity for hard drives, SSD drives, etc. Read more
