I purchased the XL even thought I noramally wear a 1X and it fit great. The material has spandex so it stretches. It's warm (not fuzzy warm, but the material is heavy), great pockets and the zipper works fine. I don't zip & unzip a robe, I just leave it partially zipped and step into it. I was looking for a lightweight robe that opened in the front to accommodate my shoulder surgery. This was the perfect robe for what I wanted. It is very comfortable. The material is soft and stretchy, and I love the purple color. I like to have pockets in my robe, but these are large and hang quite unattractively. Also, the neckline is very plain. So I would not buy it for the attractiveness, but rather for the comfort. I am 5'7" and weigh 140 LBS. The robe hangs just below my knee and M is plenty roomy. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.
