Product Review: ELASTIKON by Actimove Soft Cotton Elastic Tape (I Used for Ear Posting) ELASTIKON is the preferred tape by professional handlers and breeders for Doberman ear posting. Its combination of powerful zinc oxide adhesive and breathable cotton makes it unmatched for maintaining a secure post while protecting the puppy's sensitive skin. It is highly recommended despite its price. What We Loved (The Pros for Posting) Superior Hold and Security: The zinc oxide adhesive is incredibly strong. When properly applied, it ensures the posts stay perfectly upright and secured at the base for the full 5-7 days, resisting the puppy's head shaking and play. Essential Breathability: The soft cotton weave allows the skin underneath to breathe. This is absolutely critical for preventing the moisture buildup that leads to yeast infections and sores—the biggest threat to successful posting. Conformable and Protective: The tape stretches, allowing it to conform snugly to the unique curves of the ear base without creating "wrinkles" or creases in the skin, which can cause pressure sores. Areas for Improvement (The Cons for Posting) Premium Price Point: It is significantly more expensive than standard athletic tapes, which adds up quickly given that the posting process can last 6 to 12 months. Removal/Residue: Due to its powerful adhesive, it can be tricky to remove without a specialized adhesive remover (like *Detak* or *Unisolve*). Using oil or solvent is necessary to prevent pulling the delicate puppy hair/skin. Who Should Buy This? Doberman and Great Dane Owners: Anyone needing to post ears who prioritizes the security of the post and the health of the puppy's skin above cost. Anyone: It is a professional-grade product that provides the best chance for successful ear setting. Read more
A great replacement for the old moleskin plus, which is worthless in recent years with an adhesive that is usually old stock with no adhesion to skin at all. This isn't felt, but it is flexible with good adhesion and serves perfectly for blisters and hot spots. Read more
I used this tape to protect a very difficult area on my horse (hocks) which is a joint. Imagine that joint bending while holding 1,000 lbs of weight and the tape staying put for several days. Even though he would lie down in his stall at night, the tape held. No question it is very expensive, but I cannot think of any other product that could do the job. Read more
This cotton elastic medical tape is of great quality and doesn’t easily tear or rip. ELASTIKON advertises it as a compression option to support sprains, strains, and muscle injuries, instead of using traditional wraps. I have both a knee and foot injury and tested this tape on them. While it does provide adequate support, it’s not as comfortable as an actual compression wrap. Wrapping my knee took an entire roll because the tape is only 1" wide. Removing it was quite painful, almost like exfoliating my leg hair—it’s definitely sticky enough! Using it on my foot was slightly better. I discovered it works well for taping an ice pack onto my foot or knee, which was helpful. For me, it’s most effective for smaller areas like fingers or toes. I also use it alongside other bandages, such as gauze. The value for money is decent—12 rolls is a lot, especially given the quality and durability of this tape. Read more

I love this 1" elastikon tape for thumbs and toes. Extremely sticky yet easy to manipulate. 100/10 will buy again (and already have)! Read more
I needed flexible, elastic tape to that would lightly stick to itself. I used this to wrap by my toes to prevent the big toe with bunions from overlapping the other toes. This tape is too heavy for this purpose and only sticks on one side. This did not meet my needs. Read more
