The media could not be loaded. No more burning my knuckles when trying to light a short wick in a deep candle! Is very plain and mechanical looking but it feels good in your hands, very easy to operate, the neck is flexible not flimsy. Works wonderfully, doesn't require any type of flammable fluid. Uses power that comes from using a USB to charge it (bonus, it came already charged). Metal barreled, long-necked lighters can't hold a candle to it (pun, lol). Warning, though, the lighting tip did remain hot for a few moments ago I would take precaution before storing it right away in a drawer or with flammable items, and I'm pretty certain you could shock or burn skin with it. It does look like a tiny version of a some type of stun tool, therefore, I wouldn't pack it in carry-on luggage. I have no idea how long a charge would last but I've used it daily to light several candles for about two weeks and it flicks on immediately, no sign of the charge dwindling. Since the duration of the charge is unknown, I wouldn't keep it as my only source of lighting candles in an emergency kit. This was a terrific recommendation on one of the many Amazon Prime Day purchase sites. This product works pretty well. It's not the fastest at lighting a candle but it will do it. I like that it's a rechargeable item. Funny thing. When it's in use, it makes a sound. There's a study once that was done where it proved children could hear frequencies adults cannot. I used it as part of a science lesson and demonstrated it from a You Tube video. It was true. The adults heard nearly nothing but the kids were all very uncomfortable. This lighter makes an audible high pitched noise for an adult, but it's an excruciating sound for children. Much like the video I used. This is great but maybe not for a household with small kids if you're lighting candles constantly... or maybe you want to drive your kids nuts! I use this on my gas grill since the built in igniter stopped working. I like the simplicity and long neck that can reach down into the grill. The batteries seem to last forever but are easy to charge when needed. It's a cool little device that does a great job of lighting my grill. Read more

I will keep this in my emergency kit. I will rotate it every few months with others I have. A full charge will yield over 120 seconds of use. It takes a tenth of a second to light char material or a propane burner. It takes only a quarter to half a second to light cardboard providing you tear it up a little for an easy start. This lighter can be charged from almost any source with a USB C plug, so with a cheap solar power bank my 8 lighters will last a lifetime should SHTF!
