So easy!

Lifesaver! So easy to use and now we can open jars without hurting our hands. My husband and I have weaker hands with some arthritis, and even the other manual jar openers are hard for us to use. Read more

Great Opener

Definitely top notch. The hand strength isn't what it once was, and this thing opens jars that are especially tight. Read more

So Far, the Best

We have purchased and used (or attempted to use) several jar openers over the past few months. Initially we purchased a highly rated Oxo version which I believe came missing a part so it may not have gotten a fair shake. However, it didn't work well and was difficult to use, requiring 3 hands. We tried using the pliers type oil filter wrenches, which worked fine for me due to my larger hands, but my wife's hands couldn't manage them. Plus my arthritis isn't getting better so they went back in the tool box. Next we tried one of the type with a u shaped handle and notches and a locking jaw mechanism. These didn't lock well and just slipped in my wife's hands. So...here we are...the electric version. So far we've only opened 3 jars. One a jelly jar, one tall skinny olive type jar and a bottle with a bit less than a 1.5 diameter lid and tapered neck. The bottle is likely near the minimum size this thing will work on as it slipped at first, readjusted and worked it's magic. So far, this opener is the only one that meets the mark, doing exactly what it's supposed to. No, it isn't fast, but then neither am I, and it's lower speed helps preventing pinched fingers. My wife says this one is a keeper. I'm concerned, based on other reviews, that it may break over time, but for now it works great and I can eat pickles again! Read more

Wrist Pain? This Jar Opener is Your New Best Friend

The media could not be loaded. As someone dealing with wrist pain, this automatic jar opener has been a game-changer in my kitchen routine. My husband purchased it for me, and it's proven to be an excellent solution for my daily struggles with opening jars. Pros: - Eliminates wrist strain completely - Easy to operate - Works with various jar sizes - Durable construction Areas for Improvement: - Success rate could be better (fails about 40% on first attempts) - Always works on second try when initial attempt fails Despite the occasional need for a second attempt, this device has significantly improved my kitchen independence. It reliably opens jars without causing any wrist discomfort, which is invaluable for someone with my condition. Read more

Perfect if you struggle with opening jars

This electric jar opener has been a lifesaver for me. The design is simple and practical, a hands-free gadget that clamps onto a lid with the push of a button. The functionality is flawless; it can handle jars of all sizes, from small relish jars to large pickle jars, with no problem. I've been amazed at its strength. It takes the struggle out of a task that used to be a real challenge for me. Ease of cleaning is a breeze since you don't need to put it on the jar's contents. For the value for money, it's a solid investment that saves a lot of frustration. If you have any issues with grip strength, this is a must-have kitchen tool. Read more

A dud

I have tested 8 jar openers for gifts and for myself and they all look similar. This one has does not work well. It will not close to grip the bottle. When I assisted in closing, it still could not hold on to the bottle. It just spun. I do not know if this is just one defective one or if it is what all of them from this vendor is like. Off to look for one that works well. Read more

Electric Jar Opener For Seniors With Arthritis,Electric Bottle Opener,Jar Opener

Great product for a respectable price. I purchased this opener for my mother who has issues with arthritis in her hands. This opener works as described. However, if you are trying to open a Talenti Ice Cream container - you will still have an issue as those jars really are difficult to open on a normal basis. For everything else, this jar opener works well. Read more

For mycology? Not quite...

I purchased this thing in hopes of getting into my VERY difficult to open mycology jars filled with liquid cultures. To be fair, it struggled valiently but didn't even budge the lid. I'm using wide-mouth jars with aftermarket plastic lids and silicone gaskets. These jars are total wrist killers. I need a way to open them without damaging the lids. I think I'll try a pair of oil filter wrench style openers next. At least that will give me 2 "Handles," to pull against. Hope this saves someone a little time/money. Read more
