The Vmax VX4 GT is hands down one of the best electric scooters I’ve ever tried. As a bigger rider (6'0" and 265 lbs), it’s tough to find a scooter that can handle hills, rough roads, and still feel smooth and powerful—this one does it all. The 500W motor with a peak of 1600W powers up hills like a champ, including what I call the "hill of death," without breaking a sweat. The suspension and 10-inch tubeless tires offer a comfortable ride, even on rough terrain. The triple braking system (drum, disc, and regenerative) gives me confidence in all conditions. The build quality is exceptional, true to its Swiss engineering. The large battery (23Ah) gives me great range, and I love the cruise control for longer rides. Plus, it’s packed with safety features like integrated lights and indicators. Overall, this scooter is worth every penny if you're looking for power, comfort, and durability. Fun to ride but the rear brake light did not work due to a pinched in half wire ..the wire was pinched by the outer casing on the right side it was a assembly error..And the rear fender was cracked...The box was all screwed up when i got it..oh well Read more
First the good: 5 press the power button to activate beast mode. Only mode you need unless you're a noob. Does 25 mph, sometimes a little over that. Do you really need to go any faster? Waterproofing holds up to leaving it outside in the rain for months on end but I recommend laying it on its left side to prevent any water getting in to charging port. Surprisingly good on muddy trails despite only coming with hybrid tires. Can go up very steep dirt trails but stay upright with all your weight on that rear tire or else you'll be carrying it the rest of the way. A little skill required for very steep dirt hills. Good power for going up hills but of course it does drop speed slightly. Brakes are motorcycle style and work well stopping on steep downhill dirt trails. Again, a little skill is required. Electronics are solid. The build is solid. Cruise control works. Thumb drive is responsive. At 25 mph this is not for speeders but I don't feel I really need anything faster, especially on these small tires. Best thing: UL listed and 2 year warranty! Customer service was responsive. Battery lasts forever. I got 40 miles of city riding one day. Obviously hills eat up the battery faster. Now the bad: All the bolts that hold on the digital screen fell off after 50 miles of off-road vibrating. M4 sized metric bolts. Easily replaced from ACE Hardware but definitely use the red locktite to make sure they don't fall off again. I bought mine just before black Friday for $1.5k only to see the price drop down by $350 on Friday. Asked for a $100 credit and was denied. Do they really only want me to buy during a sale? I thought that was a little lame. I don't begrudge them making a profit off a well made machine but I would have appreciated a small credit towards my next purchase. The cover on the charge port doesn't stay completely shut. That's why I lay the scooter on its left side when it's raining. Would like a better cover. The clip to lock the stem down is goofy. I had to put a carbiner on it to keep it locked so it doesn't un-latch. Overall I'm very impressed with the build quality and ride quality. I would like to see a model with larger tires. Here's a weird thing. The battery says 100% for the first 5 miles or so then drops off faster as you go below 90%. I would like to see a more accurate power gauge. Read more
The Good: Long range, comfortable scooter. VMAX has all the replacement parts available. A lot of great features. The Bad: You're going to need those parts. Some of the components are cheap and will arrive broken. I have two of these. Both arrived with broken parts. I think UPS just drops these out of an airplane at low altitude. VMAX is so close to making one of the best scooters, but there are some features that are truly bad and should be addressed. The folding latch is ridiculous and despite how solid the actual scooter is, the rear signals and wheel covers are a cheap afterthought. Read more
I recently purchased the Vmax VX4 GT for my commute to work, about 5 miles each way. This scooter is awesome! It’s fast, built quality is excellent and most importantly for me, it goes up hills effortlessly. I am 230 lbs so finding a scooter that would accommodate to my weight was my main concern. I also wanted long range. Some scooters at a similar price topped out at 250-265 lbs so I felt that was too close to my weight. This beast of a scooter accommodates riders up to 330 lbs! Even though it’s a single motor, it outperforms others with dual motors, which are way more expensive. It comes fully assembled. All you have to do is put the handle bar. It is literally 4 screws. Range is excellent and I could go to work and back home and still have charge to have fun around my neighborhood or go to the trails for a nice ride. I get 24.3 mph max speed in Sport Mode. To activate Beast Mode you have put it in sport mode and do 5 quick presses on the power button. You won’t get know you are on beast mode unless you ride it and see the Speed on the Screen go up to 27 mph. That is quick enough for me. Faster than that could be fun, but not safe in my opinion. Range in Eco mode is claimed to be around 60 miles from a full charge, depending on things like road conditions and rider weight. Overall, this is my best purchase of the year. I have no regrets whatsoever, just big smile on my face every time I hop on it. It makes my commute so much fun. If you decide to get one, make sure su pick up some gear, most importantly, a quality helmet. Don’t go cheap on this. Ask yourself how much your head is worth. If you ride on the street like I do, a good quality motorcycle helmet is a must. Read more
