It is very easy to use I don't even think you really need the manual that much. The flavor I don't know as it depends on the charcoals u use. I've tried the quick lights for while on it and start up really quick. For the Natural coco choals it starts pretty fast like areound 10 minutes or less depending on how many coals you light up at a time. The value for the price I think is a bit pricey since it got rusted the same day I used it. So for that I think the price should go a bit down.
