Element Equipment Trailhead Duffel Bag Shoulder Straps Waterproof Olive Green Small

We just spent 3 weeks backpacking through Europe, and this bag was awesome. It held everything I needed it to (anything bigger would have been too cumbersome to haul around on trains, through airports, etc.). It was sturdy and durable. The backpack straps were essential because for long walks of several miles I would put the bag on my back and my laptop backpack on the front of my body. This allowed me to distribute the weight evenly and have both arms free. It never got rained on, so I didn't test out the waterproof qualities, but I sprayed it down when I got back, and it repelled the water. This is now my #1 travel bag due to its size, ability to be carried as a backpack or duffel bag, and its waterproof build. One thing to keep in mind is that it doesn't have external pockets (due to the need for it to be sealed up to repel water) and not much in that regard inside. But I used compression bags to sort my stuff anyway, so that wasn't an issue for me. If it can take a 3-week trip through three countries in Europe, I'm confident it will take just about anything else I'll throw at it. Read more

Nice, water-resistant bag. Originally bought this bag for dive gear and loved it. Now I have purchased a second for camping gear. Plenty of room for a sleeping bag and weekend clothing/supplies. Material is thick and seams have held up well carrying heavy gear with the original bag, hoping this new one lives up to the first. Read more

Nice. Very rugged vinyl construction, STRONG zippers and handles. A clear pocket on the outside for identifying info, plus three large mesh pockets on the inside to store toiletries or items you might need to find quickly, like meds or passport. Very roomy main compartment. And it looks nice, is easy to spot on the carousel, and easy to find in the dark. Or in the dark water, as it floats. Read more

Got the large bag for a week long Elk hunt, late season in Jackson WY. We had to horseback in and required a soft side durable bag. This thing held up excellent! It was exposed to the elements and no issues with water getting in. For the price and quality, it's definitely worth it. Read more

The backpack straps come in handy, but the lack of hand loops is annoying There are handles on either end and on the sides, but for the size of the bag, they are not convenient for handling in scenarios like airport checked bag. You can use the backpack straps but these are long and are not designed to hold the weight of the bag. Knowing baggage handlers, this can become an issue for a future tear and failure The top flap overlaps the zipper which will help keep rain out, but this makes grasping the zipper less than ideal. This bag lacks external pockets, but has a zippered mesh pocket on the flap and 2 elastic small pockets inside on each end. The external handles and webbing is reinforced very well. but again, no carry handle. I bought and used this for a 46 ft boat delivery with a week in the open ocean. I wanted to make sure if the boat got wet, my stuff would remain dry. This bag has good water protection properties. the material will prevent water intrusion. The zipper is covered but will not prevent water intrusion. The backpack straps came in handy at the airport as I was able to have it on my back instead of carrying it around, but when I checked it, the straps become annoying since they are there in an awkward location.
