I saw a lot of people complaining about the zipper and the drawstrings for the hood. The company must have took those concerns because the zipper quality and the drawstring quality is excellent. I would order one size bigger than what you normally would order. A slightly bigger jacket is not necessarily A Bad Thing. The hand pockets are set back slightly but they are not as shallow as some of the comments said. I got a pretty decent size phone and it fits in the pocket no problem. The inside liner is comfortable and the outside plaid quality is really good. I highly recommend this jacket for chilly to slightly cold weather. This is the second jacket of this kind (first one was in another color/pattern) ordered for my husband. The first one was bought in January. He wears an Extra Large, which is the size we ordered in both cases. The two jackets fit him perfectly and are very cozy -- comfortable and soft. In winter temperatures, he says they're nicely warm, with just a short - or long-sleeved T-shirt underneath. I don't know how the fit would be with a sweater underneath instead, but it might be a bit snug. He likes having the handy breast pocket. The jackets are well sewn, the closing zippers work well. We haven't washed the jackets yet, so we don't know how easy that will go, but am thinking that the outside and inner material will likely absorb a lot of water and make it necessary to wash them as single items in the washer ("bulky item" selection on the dial). Our washer does a great job spinning out the excess water in the loads, but am anticipating having to hang the jackets up to dry naturally, and not putting them in the dryer. Read more
I struggle hard these days in figuring out what is worth while on Amazon, so I am trying to make more of an effort to write reviews myself of the things I get. I once had a hoodie like this over a decade ago, but instead of the flanal look it was a solid color. I would see the assorted flanal hoodies and regret I hadn 't gotten one, so many years later far after that hoodie had fallen apart, It was time I got a new one, and thought its time to get a flanal one... only to find no one was selling them anymore, except for amazon! It is very soft, the fluff inside it does feel a little thin, but is very warm. Its lighter weight than some of the older hoodies of this style I had run into before, which is actually a boon. Warm, soft and light is perfect. Fit: It is for sure on the larger side of XL, but as someone who put on a bit of weight that is perfect for me, and once I loose that weight still will fit well, As to some negitives people have said about the sleeves is true, they are an inch or two shorter than they could stand to be. so they can pull back leaving your wrists a little uncovered and get chilly when sitting or streching out, but its hardly the worst instance of this I've encountered. Its perfectly fine. My biggest issue is the pockets on the front. I am so used to those front pockets on hoodies to be nice and deep so you can comfortably keep a phone or other stuff in there and not easily be seen in there, or have some good room to stuff your hands in deep. The jacket is excellent! It is well made and is true to size. It is well priced. One thing to note is that shipping time is a little slow. I included the jacket in an overnight shipment but this one item took 7 to 8 days to receive. It was well worth the wait. Just keep that in mind in case you want to order for yourself or someone else and there is a time constraint. All in all I recommend the jacket and the service. Read more
I haven't had the problems reported by some of holes in the pockets, zipper tab on the wrong side, too small or too large for the size, too thin. I will note, as others have, that the pockets are set back too far. By a good 2 or 3 inches. Getting the hands in the pockets is a little awkward, but once in they're not bad. The "sherpa" lining sheds pretty bad until after a couple washings and the sherpa lined sleeves make it a little hard to get your arms through if you're wearing, say, a flannel shirt. Quilted lined sleeves would be better. This jacket is warmer than a conventional hoodie sweatshirt by a good bit. Read more
