Story time: As a lady lawyer who has spent half her adult life in some form of a “monkey suit,” I consider myself a seasoned expert in the art of the blazer. And let me tell you — this red-and-black houndstooth number from Elleven is giving polished, giving vintage academia, giving “I win objections before I even open my mouth.” This is my 4th or 5th Elleven jacket at this point, and honestly they’re becoming my personality. Their oversized cuts do run a little big (even compared to the size chart), but the medium still fits beautifully — relaxed in the right way, structured where it counts, and easy to style open or buttoned. I may move the buttons slightly for a more tailored silhouette, but that’s more personal preference than necessity. The fabric is soft but holds its shape, the amber buttons are a surprisingly luxe touch, and the full lining keeps it comfortable even for all-day wear. Bonus pro tip: on both this style and the black-and-white version, you can fold the lapel over on itself and button it down for a totally different open-front look — super chic and gives you multiple styles in one jacket. This is an extremely beautiful, wool-blend, houndstooth jacket. The quality is amazing! The lining is top-notch, and the stitching is perfect. It's warm and comfortable. The sizing is not perfect; it is sized in small, medium, large, etc. Just check the sizing chart against your measurements. The sizing chart was accurate enough for me, even though I am just over 5 feet tall. Being so short, the blazer runs a little longer on me, but it fits everywhere else, and it looks really nice. Update: these are real pockets they are just sewn partially closed so carefully with a seam ripper I was able to open them up and they are fabulous! I have other "blazers" from this company. Absolutely love them. They are very well made. This one is a little different it fits a little more losely and its a bit thicker. Still love it love the fit and the look but this one can also be worn as àn autumn jacket for sure. It looks great with jeans or skirts and looks great just as a suit jacket but also with a scarf as an actual piece of outer wear. I usually order mediums and so that is what I ordered here. The arm length and shoulder room are great - it does fit a bit oversized but not because its too big but just because that's the cut and style of it. There is room for a blouse and thin sweater underneath. Its very soft and warm not too much stretch. Im 5'9 and about 170 pounds. My measurements are 36, 32, 42. The pockets are sewn closed but it looks like there are actual pockets in there? So I am contemplating taking a seam ripper to them and opening them up. Read more
