I received this product two days ago mid afternoon and ordered 6 of them total in two orders. I quickly put them outside to charge and it only had about 3 hours of good sunlight. I was surprised how bright the lights still were even without the full 4 to 6 hour charge it needs. We have been getting two foxes hanging around the neighborhood since last March, killed a neighbor's small dog and other neighbor's chickens and I am sick of cleaning up their nasty poop. Poop on the front porch, middle of yard, sidewalk and back yard dog play area to mark their territory. I tried other methods to deter them but they were hit or miss. I read they don't like light especially sudden light so I thought I would give this a try. I stayed up a little longer the first night to basically watch the front yard often to see if it worked and low and behold around 1:30am I saw one fox running down the middle of the street. It did not trigger the sensor, a little to far I guess but within a half hour the fox came on to the front yard and set off the 2 lights immediately and it ran away fast. Hopefully this will always be the case. I am only using the #1 on/off because I want the yard dark with a sudden bright light for more of a scare for the foxes. Easy to set up and I like the flexibility on the direction I want the lights to face and how high or low I want the sensor. The sensor is sensitive and easily picks up on not only slight movement but from over 25 feet away however, not until you are at a 10 or 2 o'clock position of the sensor so take that into consideration when placing the light. I wish it picked up movement even more to the sides. I also like how bright it is and the distance the light covers. So far so good, I am happy with the product. UPDATE: Have been using these lights now for a couple of weeks and they still work good with no issues with the motion sensor or light brightness. Just wanted to add though, if you are using this to deter cunning foxes away as I am: Since my first review we have had a fox in my back yard 3 times and it was while I was still awake and noticed the lights through the window so I took a look. The fox would get out of the light but as soon as he reached an area that was not so bright he would just hang out and sniff around my guess to look for a place to mark. I ordered two more of these lights so that ALL of my back yard will be lit bright no matter which direction the fox moves. Also, when I saw the fox was not leaving and sniffing away from the light I opened the window and made a loud hissing sound and that scared him right over the fence. I made the same sound the other two times as well therefore, sound seems to work the best and I will shop for a fox sound alarm with motion sensor to incorporate in the set up. Update 9/28/24 - after having these lights several weeks we finally had several days of cloudy and rainy days. The lights still worked without a solar recharge for two days. On the third day of the same weather, the lights died that early evening so if you go without sunlight for two days they still work fine, but after 3 days the batteries die. I think if the lights did not stay on for 30 seconds after no motion detected but rather 5 or 10 seconds (like my other brand lights which still worked after 3 days of no sunlight) than these lights would have more life in the batteries Read more
These are incredible. I live in the dark mountains of North Carolina, where there is zero light pollution. My street is pitch black. Especially with winter, where around 6 PM it's basically dark dark for the night and coming home from the gym and grocery store kinda stinks, especially when I forget to turn my porch light on. I needed something with motion sensors, that can detect me walking up and be bright. These are them. First, they are SO SO bright. Like, flash bang grenade light up. Amazing to illuminate your entire driveway with just the two. Again, my area is basically zero light pollution, there is no porch lights on, most people stay in there homes cause Appalachia, and oh these cut through the darkness like a machete through vines. My pictures below I feel like don't even do justice, but man these things are incredible. The charge from the solar power keeps these things going for as long as it detects motion but you can just leave them on once it gets dark and it's been a couple of days with no issues being on 24/7 (just to try it out) and even that's awesome. One thing I love is that they're good sized, sturdy, and feel well made. As well this comes with mountain hardware in case you wanted to put it on a deck or a porch or something. I point mine down at a decent angle to spread out the light spread, but these things are essentially mini spotlights and can be used to illuminate the side of your house. Seriously these things are the real deal. A must buy to illuminate. Read more
I just got a new puppy and she is currently being potty trained. Our 1am potty sessions have been a challenge to see her in the dark. These lights are the perfect brightness to not disturb the neighbors and the motion sensor turns them on when in range and shuts off a few minutes later. It covers the wide area I need with room for adjustments if needed. Package come with ground stakes or screws for mounting. Highly recommend! Read more
I first bought an 8-pack of lights. 2 of the 8 were dead. The company reached out after I left a bad review and was willing to work with me but wanted video of the bad lights. I could never get the video clip small enough for them to get that; so, I never got a credit. So, that's minus 1 star in the rating. I bought another pack of 8. All were good! The lights are really outstanding! The motion works great and they put out a TON of light. Now wait, it gets even better. The lights have a serious solar collector on them and they get fully charged during the day. I have one set on the second setting to illuminate a flag during the night and it stays lit the entire night, every night. The units are made well and feel solid. I'm super impressed with the amount of light, the batteries, and the awesome solar collectors. Get these NOW! Read more
I am really impressed with these solar lights. They were incredibly easy to install, and the motion sensor is very responsive—it picks up movement from a good distance without being over-sensitive. The light is surprisingly bright for being solar-powered and provides plenty of coverage for my driveway and backyard. I love the dusk-to-dawn feature, and they’ve held up great through several heavy rainstorms already. Excellent value for the price! Read more
The media could not be loaded. I like these solar light. Just put them in a location that gets enough sun and you’re done. The sensors will come on when it detections motion. They are plenty bright and light’s up my backyard. You don’t have to get a flashlight to see where your little dog is. The lights will detect the dog and light up your yard. They are water resistance and looks quality made. Read more
