I've had great luck with Emmerson Microwave ovens. Seem to last really long. Glad they still make them. Wasn't able to find them in Walmart anymore so Amazon it is. Very easy to use. Only a 1000 watts, irritating warning beeps, BUT it worked religiously for 10 years, although the turning rotor sort of got too loud so I just took out that removable thing that made the glass plate turn, but it still worked. So I bought the EXACT SAME MODEL, "Emerson mw1161sb." $100, how can you go wrong, that is, unless this is a refurbished model! I purchased my original one in Walmart. Read more

Delivery was on time . It is big inside plenty of room. The 1000 watts is perfect . Heats up quickly as it should . Buttons are nice size easy to read and push . For me it was about the size inside . 1.3 to me is perfect . Just received it today using it alot already. Definitely recommend both brand and size . As a person who doesn't necessarily go for brand names but on affordability and performance, I got this because I had an old Emerson I had used for 9 years without any issues. I got this as a replacement because a friend told me microwave ovens shouldn't be used more than 5 years. Price is also lower than competitors with similar size and function. UPDATE: 12/26/19 Still waiting on resolution. I contacted Amazon who said that because I had the Asurion protection plan I would have to contact them. Contacted Asurion who told me to cut the cord off the back of the microwave, peel the item sticker off the back, include a letter with a description of the problem and the case number, and mail to Emerson. Emerson would send me a new microwave. Emerson received the cord,etc. on Dec. 11. I have had no response from them. So I contacted Amazon again. They are trying to be helpful but are not listening, or else not understanding. I have repeated the whole story numerous times. Today I received a mailing label to mail the microwave back and they would refund my money. The microwave went to the trash after it had its cord cut off!! I cannot mail it back, as I’ve said many times! I’m frustrated and will give Emerson one more chance today. Will keep you updated, if anyone is interested.... Initial review, 3 stars: The oven worked perfectly—it heated correctly, the turntable turned, etc. the problem was with the metal housing. When the oven was in use the housing would rattle loudly. You could make it stop if you pressed against the the side of the oven. But as soon as you’d let go the noise was back. Since I don’t like standing in front of the microwave while it’s in use I elected to return it. I’m currently waiting on a replacement. To sum up: the oven worked fine, the metal housing was faulty. I like this microwave oven. I have used it daily for various foods from coffee to beef dinners. It came well-protected and replaces a well-used microwave oven. Its only, minor flaw is that, if you don't hear the beep when it finishes, you are not reminded incessantly. My office could use one of these, since some of my coworkers have to be reminded that their food is ready, snd that ocen reminds all of us every 60 seconds. :) Read more

I am coming off of using a 30 year old microwave, and this one is like magic. It cooks most things in 30 seconds or less and I have had no problems with it! I was a little worried about size since it just sits on the counter, but it is small enough in size that it doesnt take up too much counter space but still has plenty of room inside. Read more
