These are nice thick, warm socks! We bought these for our 11 month old for the coming winter. We've had them for a bit now, and we really like them! They are nice and warm and fir her very well! Right now they reach to right below her knee. She is in the 70th percentile of height. Her foot is about 4.5 inches. We've worn these socks with shoes and boots. They are quite thick, so wearing them with boots works better than with shoes. Also, if your child's shoes are getting to be too small, don't expect these socks to fit well with them. They are nice and thick. I really love the thickness because it keeps baby's feet warm! We've gone out in 50° F weather with rain boots (not lined, just rubber boots), and these socks, and they keep baby's feet nice and toasty! We haven't had cooler weather during the day, but so far they work great! We've also used these socks at night time when the temperature drops a bit lower. They help keep baby's feet warm. We do use cotton footie PJs and put these socks on top. My one thing that I did not like about these socks, is the doggies. If you look at them too close, they are a bit creepy... The purple one especially. But, since we've been using them with boots, we hardly see the dogs. Pro tip: wash these socks in a delicates bag. These were WAY nicer than I was expecting! The colors are so adorable, and so are the patterns. The socks are thick and warm and cushiony. Very nice to put on when it is a cold morning! Even though they are thick, she still can wear her normal shoes just fine. These are not 'just for boots' type of thick. The only negative of these is that they appear to pill when you put them in the dryer. I just throw them in the washing machine and then let them air dry. I have purchased socks from this brand twice now. My kids are obsessed with them. They are thick, comfy, and keep my kids’ feet warm even when wet (which is always if they’re playing in the snow!) I try to keep them for “outside snow days” but my kids grab them for everyday use. They seriously love them. They do run small and they do shrink (I’m never one to follow special laundry instructions...they get thrown in the wash and dryer with everything else). But that does not seem to bother my kids. My 8 year old still wears the smaller size we got years ago. I got the largest size available this time around and they fit her. A little small but, like I said, she does not seem to mind at all. My 4 and 6 year old wear them too, so they’re definitely small but stretchy enough that bigger feet can wear them too. These are great socks. I wear adult female size 4.5 shoes, and the Large fit perfectly. They are very soft and cushy, but not bulky and not scratchy. They are thicker than a dress sock, but less than a crew sock. I can comfortably wear them with any shoe. I wash and air dry, but the pair that accidentally went into the dryer did not shrink. These are ankle socks, not calf socks, with good stretch. I liked them so much I ordered another set. Some have commented that both socks are marked "L". Mine are too, but I think that stands for Large, not Left. I recommend. Read more
