I bought this after reviewing similar products. I was a little worried about putting the tube tip in my ear but took a chance and ordered it. The instructions were clear regarding the assembly. I did use a wax softener an hour prior to using the kit. I used very warm water and sat on a chair to use the kit. The tube tip did not hurt and was flexible. The water pressure was strong enough to flush out some wax from my ear. I did experience some dizziness so I recommend sitting while using it. My other option would have been using a wax softener for several days and visiting a doctor or clinic to have the wax flushed out. I recommend this product. Read more

If you've ever needed to go to Urgent Care for an ear blockage, and it's determined that it's due to a build up of earwax, this is basically the same treatment they apply (without the hundreds of dollars of medical cost.) I actually have the kit that includes the basin, but this is practically the same product. Otherwise you can do this over a sink, or preferably (if you're solo) sitting down in a bathtub/shower. The instructions were clear enough. I needed to trim the tips somewhat so they didn't protrude too deeply into my ear (check depth before actually starting) but everyone's bodies are different. I would have liked the bottle to have gradations on it, so you wouldn't need another vessel/measuring cup to determine the 1x part hydrogen peroxide to 4x parts warm water volumes. You can use this by yourself, by kinda of shrugging your shoulder and using one hand to hold the basin, use the same hand to hold the nozzle in your ear, and the other hand to pump...but it's much easier with two people--recipient holes the basin, and the helper does the pumping and holds the nozzle. If you've never experienced this procedure before, it will be slightly uncomfortable st first (but not painful, unless you have something else wrong in your ear.) Obviously you'll want to pump gently at first, but work up the pressure/force up somewhat because the point is to basically dislodge whatever blockage is in your ear canal...you can imagine it like power washing. So communicate with whomever is doing the bottle pumping. You will want to use warm/tepid water (not HOT, the instructions also warn against this) both for cleaning power as well as comfort...if you use water that is too hot or cold, it can cause dizziness and/or nausea (remember that your ear helps with your balance.) Again, the instructions note this and also recommend you perform the procedure sitting down. All in all I'm glad to have this kit for the rare occurrences I need it. Remember that Q-tips/ear swabs are NOT recommended for cleaning your ears as they can push ear wax into your ear and actually compact it. Read more
