This is the only kit you will ever need at roadside to plug a tire & be on your way. This kit has it all. I'm a retired long haul trucker. This is my preferred plug kit. I have stored one of these in all of my trucks & my wife's SUV. You could spend so much more for other plug kits. But this one works. The price reflects the quality of both the tools & all the other essentials you will ever need. I recommend you buy this one. The money you save can be used elsewhere. Note: Amazon sell a fine selection of replacement fiberized rubber plugs & rubber cement. This is where you don't want to skimp on cheap-O plugs elsewhere. These two items are the most important items in the entire system. Be prepared! Always read the reviews & know the sellers reputation before you purchase things. /////////////// Read more

I would call this an OK "starter kit" for patching tires. For the price, you get a decent assortment of items that will help perform an emergency patch on a tire on the road, but each individual tool could probably be of better quality. It is convenient, however, to get all the items at once at what seems like a decent value. The first impressions out of the box are that the case is built to maybe last how long it might take to use up the plugs, but not much more. The hinge is plastic that will likely break after opening and shutting it many times. All items are held securely in place so that when you open the case, things won't fall out. I appreciate that. The knife feels barely adequate for the job of cutting the plugs. However, I get that this is how the kit was built: enough to do the job and not much more. The reamer and plug insertion tool are just fine for the job, but with a single size of reamer, I question why there are two sizes of plugs. There is a spray bottle - just don't forget to fill it with a mild soapy water solution. This is perhaps one of the bigger weaknesses of this kit, at least in a cold climate. This bottle will certainly freeze and break in a cold winter, making it all but useless in the winter. The instructions mention "pliers" to remove the object that punctured your tire. However, the kit comes with side-cutters. These may allow you to get a little more purchase on something flush with the tire tread than normal pliers, but I wonder how durable that blade will be with repeated use. If you are just looking to get a quick, affordable kit for a road trip, this might satisfy your need. If, however, you are serious about your tools, you will likely want to carry something a bit more substantial in a toolbox. Overall, I can't complain too much - this kit seems to provide what you need for a quick tread patch. Read more

At a price of $24, it is just okay. My opinion is, I don't like it.. Does it work, yes.. I like that it has pretty much everything that you need in the kit. But almost everything was a let down. I squeezed the angle cutters and they started to bend in my hand.. The cutting edge was ground straight with no light gaps showing through when you hold it up to the light. It is plenty strong enough to cut the excess of the plug off that is past the tread. And they are strong enough to pull a nail out of a tire. But, when I am afraid to use my full strength to squeeze the handle with one hand for fear of breaking them. That is too weak and cheap for my liking. Considering that this was advertised as heavy duty, these clearly are not heavy duty. The handles for reaming out the hole and pushing the plug in are both about the same quality as the angle cutters. I have had plugs in the past that I really had to push hard to get the plug in. When I did, at times, the handle kink of the tire moved a little. With this set, I can not comfortably say that the handle would not break or get damaged in a situation like that. The case is a creep plastic. If you get it, keep it in the box. The plastic case is so flimsy that I honestly think that the box that they put it in is more durable. I have used a lot of plugs in the past, and the ones that come in this set are smaller than normal ones. The size on diameter is smaller. They are big enough to plug a nail hole with no problem. But if you get a small bolt on there, you may need to use 2 of these to fill in the hole where my normal ones would only need one. I like that it comes with extra caps and stuff like that. No complaints with that part. I got one of their cordless air pumps a while back and it was very well made. So I was expecting close to the same quality with this set. But it failed in just about every way. I'm just glad that I only got this as a loaner type set, so if someone I know got a flat, they could use it so I didn't have to worry about my better set not coming back. I can say that it will do the job, but if you want my opinion, get a better set, because these will not hold up over time. My normal set is probably 3 times stronger than this one. I only gave it 3 stars because the fact is, it will do the job. But definitely not heavy duty. Read more
