My toddler granddaughter goes to her local zoo frequently and the giraffe is by far, her favorite zoo animal. I selected this particular giraffee becuse it is very life like to her actual zoo animals. It is also cuddly; firm but not hard and is the perfect size for her. She squealed with delight when she got it in the mail and goes around kissing this adorable stuffed animal. It is safley made and I have not seen any parts that she could swallow,or pick off. I will definitely seek out other animals she sees at the zoo and have her use them to learn more about each one. I always send a book with each one. Thanks VIAHART for such a great product and kudos for making each one safe for my special granddaughter . When I face time her she runs to her room to show me her special "gaffe". I’m not sure this is completely relevant; my goddaughter’s son has mild Down syndrome and she had expressed that he likes soft stuffed animals. My first reaction when the giraffe arrived was that it was really cute and a bit firm. As I looked closer I was super pleased at the stitch work and quality overall and it occurred to me that this was going to last. When we gave it to him? Instant love fest and what I had first responded to as firm I would now wholeheartedly describe as well made and plenty soft and it will wear the way stuffed animals used to wear; slowly and nicely over a very long time while still maintaining its structure and charm. I emphasize this because, as I’m absolutely sure many folks can agree with, there are tons of very soft appealing versions of stuffed characters and animals out there in the same price range, yes of course, but if you notice, add a little moisture, a little throwing around or whatever? Inevitably, a weak section of seam starts the not so slow journey to garbage land. An eye comes off, a little stuffing starts finding that vulnerable section of seam. This little giraffe? I can tell already, as someone who has years of knowing well manufactured and well sewn products and what the indicators are and those that look very impressive and you know are not going to maintain their structure or function(s), this little guy will be in their household for the next generation and I have to say, that really is a big plus for me.
