I'm a huge Star Wars nerd and am very particular about my helmets. I was able to snag Vaughn for about $100ish on sale, and I think MSRP for this helmet is like $165 or so. For perspective, a commander cast (uncut and unpainted) from Galactic Armory will run you about $200, and the Captain Vaughn from SamoilovART is $300. Getting a full, completed helmet for close to the same price as a Black Series, you can't really beat it. The pictures make it look a little bit more red than it actually is, but you still get a good idea on the quality. The paint job is passable, but it won't be 501st approved straight out of the box. It's padded on the inside and very comfortable, much better than other helmets I have. That said, it's sturdy and fairly heavy, so wearing it for very long periods of time may not be ideal. Overall, it makes for a great display piece if you don't want to pay a lot of money for a Captain Vaughn helmet. I'm happy to have it in the collection. Read more

First, I do want to say for the most part, this IS a great helmet. Most of this is nit picks that I feel they could do better. It does go to the old adage, you get what you pay for. This is not EFX, or even Marvel Legends. So I knew that going in. Being my first custom helmet, I was not quite sure what to expect, but I did my research and looked at all the reviews, photos and videos. Overall, I am quite pleased. It is a sturdy helmet for the price. You cannot get a commercial Rex for whatever reason (which is the dumbest thing). So this looks awesome in the display case. However, even with that, there were things that irked me. The overall shell weathering is outstanding, and looks great! It does look like Rex has been through heck and back. The notches are nice, deep grooves as are the vents and the eyes on tops. All pluses and added to my being thrilled. The range finder is real metal, another bonus. However, the blue T- visor paint is hardly weathered...at all. I mean there was maybe 3 lines of weak white thin paint on there?! I actually took my own knife and then scrapped it by the visor, then did a silver paint pen and went over that with sand grit paper for some weather effect. Nothing harsh, but something subtle to go with what was there and it was a MAJOR improvement! Without that, it was bad and made no sense with the amount of weathering on the overall helmet. Range finder is too heavy, moves easy but I display it so don't really care. Visor itself is sloppy but again, not wearing it so do not care. Paint apps in grooves there is real slop, I was highly disappointed by this but thankfully it is in the back mostly where most will never see it. I gave it a 4 star overall mostly because the cost is lower, it IS better than a Black Series helmet would be and honestly it exceeded my expectations overall (minus the poor T visor weathering on the blue paint). Looks great, it’s got a nice weight to it, the padding on the inside is nice and comfortable. on the inside it’s really easy to see out of and even with the padding it fits nicely. This is a very well constructed, really good looking helmet. Its not black series, so there’s no sounds or anything, but it’s very true to clone army look. I’ve seen some complaints about paint job, but remember that clones painted their own helmets so the paint job isn’t meant to look perfect. I had no trouble fitting my head (it’s actually a bit large, I’m going to add another layer of padding) and it comes with a balaclava to wear under it also. I will order from this seller again. Update: I returned the original helmet within days of receiving it. The seller reached out and sent a new helmet at no charge. Since my daughter thought I was too harsh originally, we unboxed the new helmet together. The helmet is too small for an adult male, but I am using this for display only. The painted white items are better on this helmet, but it still appears a bit low on quality. You can clearly see brush strokes in the text above the visor, and a second coat would have helped. The linear white markings are a bit uneven, similar to the photos in the description, zoom in for a better view. The new helmet is an improvement, but I still feel the quality could be better. Will visitors notice my complaints with the paint? Probably not. And I would not care what they think about it. Does it bother me? It would if I paid full price. Wait til the price drops and use the coupon if you plan to display it. Final impression: I give it a 3, and I am not sure if I would keep it if I paid for it. My daughter thought it would be 3.5. Keep in mind that she thinks I am crazy to collect and buy Star Wars helmets. Original review: When I took the helmet out, I first noticed the pilot cogs were POORLY painted on.
