It works great, compacted an area roughly 15 x25 ft. to install pavers and worked great. I'm surprised by the quality and ease of use, it's heavy, portable and gets the job done. It was worth the money, I figured It would have cost me 2 trips to the rental store and at least $200 out of my pocket. This corded electric compactor works great for small projects within the reach of an extension cord. I used it by plugging it in into a robust powerbank and was able to compactor gravel over a 30 X 40 foot parking area. It is not the heaviest or most robust of small electric compactor so it isn't the best tool for compacting gravel. But it is perfect for compacting leveling sand or compacting soil prior to leveling sand. No need for oil and gas for a gas powered compactor. I’ve only used this a little bit but I can say it’s definitely a functional compactor. More aggressive than I thought it would be. Not too loud, no violent vibrations transmitted to the handle. The cord is really long so you need to manage it while compacting. Like most tools you can’t really access it accurately until it’s been around for awhile and you’ve used it under different conditions. From my initial experience I would recommend it for smaller projects with fill smaller than one inch. However it is the same unit that’s available with a gas engine that most people wouldn’t hesitate to throw down in a trench so it probably has more potential than first expected. Read more
Do not buy. Rarely leave reviews, but this is absolutely appalling especially for $600 bucks. Rust all over it. You can see previous dirt splashes. And the hand is completely broken off. Someone definitely used this on their project, then returned it, while wet inside its packaging. They literally took a broken product and thew it in a box. Am curious how many times this was done. I see where others paid $300, but I, against good judgement, decided to give it a shot at their new price of $600. It's also a pain, cause its not light weight, taking it out the box, only to find out it's trash, then having to put it back in said box, tape it up, etc. I work during the week, so my weekends are important time for me to get stuff done. Lost 2 hours dealing with the already. Got this 2 weeks ago and just took it out the box to use it. Couldn't even get it to turn on. Stay away from this, and any company who would allow it. Read more
The media could not be loaded. I was happy I decided to buy this one instead of a gas one, its lot lighter and easier to move around picking it up and moving in and out of holes. Probably doesn't have the same compaction power as a huge gas engine one but it did the job well enough for what I needed it to do and not having a deal with a gas engine was a major Plus. Read more
This was great. For the money it would have taken me to rent I just purchased this. It worked great on sand and some pea gravel. Its easy to store. Its heavy enough for the job but not to heavy to move around. Long cord. Good buy Read more
I had higher hopes for this compactor but in hing site, I should have gone for a far more powerful gas model. Used to pack down granite fines in our home dog park, after moistening the ground. The unit works ok but lacks enough power to really pack them down tight. If the material isn't spread perfectly smooth ahead of time, it will bounce across the high spots leaving the low spots uncompressed. The side enges should be beveled, like the front and back to prevent them from digging into the substrate. After operating for a couple hours now, my hands hurt from the high vibration.
