The package arrived in two/three layers of bubble wrap with a shipping label slapped on. Thats it. Of course the bottom is cracked in multiple spots, making it unusable. This Faunarium is pretty basic as far as they go. Like all others, it has clear plastic sides, and a vented, colored lid with a hatch. This model seems to be of good quality. I haven't put it through any tests, but the plastic container seems sturdy. The lid seems less sturdy, but not ridiculously so. It features a punch out for whatever you might need, large enough for a water bottle. The hatch on the lid is incredibly tight on mine, so opening it is almost impossible. This would be a problem if I needed the hatch, fortunately I don't. I was lucky enough to get this at a low price, so it was a great deal. However, I wouldn't say the quality on this particular model is any better or worse then most on the market, so shop around. Read more

I bought the "mini" size for a seven year old and two year old to take on a camping trip. They had loads of fun putting various bugs in it. The "mini" size would also fit a frog or other small animal, though of course it would be subpar for keeping such an animal for anything but a very short period of time. Pros: + Adequate ventilation + Decent enough plastic construction for the price + Sides and top window are very clear for easy visibility + Top window is hinged to allow easily adding inhabitants without taking off the entire top + Handle allows easy carrying by little ones + Cheap price Cons: - Sticker on the bottom is hard to peel off Though it would be difficult to impossible to use a typical aquarium or other heater with these (at least without any modification), that's not really a strike against the product-- it's essentially meant to be temporary portable storage for small critters, not really a full terrarium or aquarium setup. I am so disappointed. I got this for school to hatch out caterpillars for the kids and the minute I picked it up the handle the whole thing fell off and the lid was still in my hand. Of course the terrarium broke, pieces everywhere. This lid does NOT stay on the base. What is the point in having handles on something that is just going to fall and break?!? Read more
