I bought this external CD drive so my son could listen to audiobooks from the library that come with CDs, and it’s been incredibly helpful. It was easy to set up—just plug and play—and works perfectly with our laptop. The sound is clear, and it runs smoothly without any issues. The compactness and lightness of the package initially worried me, and when I plugged it into the computer, there was nothing obvious that indicated it was truly connected. But I inserted a CD, and it played fine! I also successfully tested the burning capability of this drive by recording a movie directly onto a RW DVD, and it worked like a charm! The only reason I'm giving this less than 5 stars is because the USB cable is short to the point where I don't have too much flexibility on sitting it anywhere other than literally side by side with the computer. (The instructions discourage keeping it on top of the computer itself in order to keep it cool.) Read more

I am very pleased with the Kadlun External CD/DVD Drive. The plug-and-play functionality and the overall ease of use are major advantages, particularly given that my computer lacks an internal CD player. I was also impressed with the excellent packaging, which ensured the device arrived in perfect condition. So far, the drive has performed flawlessly during the limited number of times I've used it. However, there are a couple of minor drawbacks. The primary concern is that the connecting cord is a bit too short, which slightly limits its usability. I am also uncertain about whether or not a cord extender would be compatible with this device. Read more

This worked well for about a day, then started scratching my DVDs and wouldn’t open when I clicked eject on multiple occasions. Brand new DVDs that I have never opened came out of this thing scratched after it wouldn’t eject them. Don’t waste your money; this thing is a joke. Read more
