Bought the whole shell because if you do the math, it costs a lot more to buy each separate bundle that makes up a whole shell from eXtremerate. So for just a few bucks more than the cost of the faceplate by itself you get all the buttons and back covers plus the sticks. I was originally going to buy just the glow in the dark sticks and buttons but those two separate kits together ended up costing more than the whole shell kit! So unless you know for absolutely sure that you will only ever use one or the other then just do your wallet a favor and buy the whole shell kit for way less! Best case, you can use the extra parts for another controller build or at worst you chuck em in a drawer. Either way the kit looks good with this wasteland theme faceplate, I'm really liking it so far and after a couple minutes in direct sunlight you can get the parts to glow pretty good. Has a very cool radioactive look to it although I used a clear black back cover to add a little contrast but I'm thinking I might just swap it to the glowing back as well. All in all it's a great shell that had no fitment issues and was very easy to swap and install. It does not come stipled for gripiness like the original xbox shell and is just a smooth texture but still feels very good to hold. Great kit from eXtremerate! Read more
Looks way better in person. Texture is smooth, but if you don’t like how slick it feels you can always add some textured grips which you can get for a few bucks (or make some if you’re into customizing things). I’m not a big fan of the matching face buttons it came with, so I used old buttons from my original white controller and it looks amazing. The tool kit comes in handy when removing your old shell to get to the main board, but I feel as though the kit should have tweezers or something similar. It would make moving wires around so much easier and I would strongly suggest getting some. If you’re using all the provided parts that the package comes in, everything will fit without issue. If you plan on reusing buttons from the original controller, be wary that the D-pad on the original series s is slightly different. The new ones have a raised pin for when you use the ‘up’ on the D-pad whilst the original doesn’t. If you’re going to reuse the original D-pad and are worried about the feel, you can add electrical tape or some 3m. It’ll be covered by the main boards so you won’t even see it. Personally it doesn’t bother me and it still has a satisfying click, it just feels slightly lower on the ‘up’ portion of the D-pad. Overall, the price is for these are great. I love the transparent green color and it functions just as well as my main controller that I use. Just take your time with removing parts and double check when reinstalling. Read more
I've used eXtremerate shells for a long time for many consoles! Good quality and feel. My 2 complaints: -Why TF don't eXtremerate shells or button sets ever come with Xbox home buttons??!? You're stuck with the home button that you have originally unless you find some elsewhere (home buttons are very hard to come by unfortunately) -Shell is hard to screw into - I suggest using the screws they provide you with. When you screw it in, screw it to the right a few times and then back once or twice, just to create the groove yourself. I'm pretty sure that the holes you're screwing into you don't have a groove to them. Read more
Perfect fix for my Xbox Controller. Got rid of a not so perfect cracked one from one of my kids and now I have this great, clear, glow in the dark one. Its the talk of game night. Very easy install. Read more
This kit comes with everything that you need to install all the parts. The value is amazing considering you don’t have to go out and buy the special Torx security screwdriver. It includes the pry tool so you can remove the grips, but it wasn’t the best quality plastic and broke after I used it again later on. (After the repair) I decided to mix and match on the design, keeping some of the original parts. When it’s all fully assembled again, all the parts were overall flush and fit nice. The new housing doesn’t have the textured grips, but I still managed to get used to it. Love the color so much, it has a very nice translucent blue color that looks amazing when the sun shines on it. I’d recommend this kit for anyone who has the experience, (I’ve taken apart controllers MANY times) and the time to do it all, as it took me almost an hour. I ended up using the buttons on another controller to make it look really cool. Yeah, you can just use some parts on other controllers if you don’t want to get rid of some of the original parts. Highly recommend this eXtremerate housing and mainly most of their mods, as I’ve heard great things about their other products. Just be careful with the rumble motor wires if you mess around further than just the housing and faceplate. Read more

This full replacement shell kit completely transforms the Xbox controller. The glow-in-the-dark green looks incredible and actually glows bright after light exposure. Installation takes time and patience, but the instructions are clear. All buttons and pieces fit perfectly. The quality of the plastic is solid. Makes the controller feel custom and unique. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to personalize their gaming setup. Read more
The media could not be loaded. I opted for this instead of getting a new controller and I am glad I did. 1. Looks very cool 2. Saves money 3. Quality is good 4. Options to choose from for your liking 5. Fairly easy to install Id like to suggest that if you do go with this kit. When installing clean all the button rubber grommets and any visible crud with alcohol wipes. I did and my control works like new. Read more
