Love the thickness of the distressed buffalo model.
I followed the sizing advice and got a 38 since my old belt was a 36. I am female w/ 43" waist measured at exact location where my belt rides w/ my wrangler jeans. {Right over my pelvic crests.(Where your hands rest nicely on your hips. It's 4 mm thick when I use a ruler on it. I use the 2nd hole from the end (from pointed tip) and have 4 holes left for getting skinnier and 1 left if I get fatter.) The holes are 1 inch apart (6 round holes perfect size) In this position there's roughly 1.5 inches of belt showing beyond the outside edge of the keeper, & the belt tip just comes to the 1st strap on my jeans. Color is a light brown but wouldn't call it distressed cuz it looks like uniform color throughout. More comfortable than the stretched out Levi Strauss Belt that it replaced and it works/fits perfectly using the 15+ yo Levi belt buckle which is rectangular non-roller type. The snaps didn't make that sound most make when u know they're locked in but I tried to pull it apart at the snaps and they held just fine. Very surprised at the quality including a nice thickness, uniform color, and good fit if you follow instructions listed in the description on the amazon ad. Think the buffalo might be the way to go. It has a leather smell but not strong. Have only worn it a few hours and it is very comfortable, quiet, and fits perfect. There's still room in my jeans straps to have a thicker or taller belt but then I probably couldn't bend over as comfortably. Will likely get another one in a different color.
