I have used this for months now. It is rugged, has a long battery life, and fits in my pocket very easily. I use it almost daily went out working in the yard or in the shop. Has great sound. The menu could use a little help, but doesn't seem to be too big of a hurdle. Read more
My verdict after 6 months of experience with this player is less than positive. First things first - the player works and the sound quality is good. It is lightweight and feels good in my hand. I like the audio output socket. However, coming from a Fiio X3, there was a huge difference in usability and ergonomics. Bluetooth can be a spotty, others have reported that before. Having a speakerbox within 5 inches is not problem. But a soundbar 10 feet away with an unobstructed line of sight, is spotty. Battery life is abysmal, I get a mere 6 hours out of the player. It constantly discharges if you don't shut it off. This is problematic for travel unless you constantly connect it to keep it recharged. It doesn't play continuous folders, as typical for audiobooks, so you have to manually forward to the next chapter. Then there are severe usability issues. My biggest gripe is the slow and unpredictable screen. As you swipe downward, for instance, say to display additional folders, 4 out of 5 times it quits the operation and jumps back to the start. It drives me nuts! There is no firmware update as of yet. I should have stayed with the Fiio brand ... Read more
First off you need a microscope just to read the manual. If you go to the homepage for surfans to download the manual, the F22 is the only product who's manual is no longer available. The digital player cannot use an expandable card larger than the one that comes with it (32 GB) I put 50 gigs of music on a 1TB card (which says on the amazon description page that the storage can be expanded to 1TB ) and when I tried to start of the device, it continually froze while loading in the music. When it did start up, half of the music was missing. Another interested fact I came upon is that the F22 does not recognize any artist or album that starts with a number, ex 50 Cent. If you want to add any of those items, you literally have to spell out the number. The one good thing I will say is that when it did work, the sound wasn't bad. Overall not a good purchase. Got it to leave in my car. popped out the disc and loaded some songs. It connected without issue. Car doesnβt control device or display info but I read the reviews so I didnβt mind. My negatives are battery life was a bit short for a full charge & the SD slot doesnβt have a back. After my initial test I wanted to finish loading songs and instead of the spring pushing the card out, it pushed it in never to be seen again. Canβt even crack it open to retrieve the card Contacted customer service, did some troubleshooting and info verification. Device replaced and works as it should. Read more

First, I've had Sony and Panasonic Walkmans since the introduction of the first cassette players. I also own Sony Walkmans, FIIO and the early Apple Ipods and have seen usage go from 15 hours to 4 hours battery life with the currently available models. This surfans unit, which I cannot find any video reviews on, has a very nice screen. The unit sounds okay (it's not as good as my older Sony MP3 players). The software system is kind of clunky. I've tried through trial and error (and having to restart the machine many times) to locate the several bluetooth headsets I have. The unit is STUBBORN at discovering bluetooth connections. Some units (bluetooth speakers and headsets), no matter how many times I had tried, I couldn't get that to find a particular speaker. The unit has glass on both the front and back so it's going to be easily prone to scratches. I could not locate a third market case anywhere. It you're kind of clumsy, it's easy to slip out of your hand. Yes, it is a pretty unit ... Square edges ... Nice album/song cover art. The unit is very light. I doubt it would be very water resistant. If I wasn't a long term Walkman type, mp3 player user and this was my first mp3 purchase (not knowing how much better other companies were), I would have found this acceptable. I was REALLY hoping this unit would live up to the reviews posted on here. Back to the drawing board. I'm glad some have found this acceptable because a dedicated MP3 players are great and the vast storage would cost you a fortune to equip a phone. Read more
