Well-Made Squat Rack

This is a really nice squat rack for the price. It's built really sturdy and easy to put together. However, you will need a wrench and socket for the locking nuts to tighten them. Read more

Pleased; have the right tools for assembly

I’ve been using these for about four months for bench work and squats. They suit my purposes fine and I’m pleased with the value. While they rock a bit when re-racking heavy weight, I have not found it necessary to do any additional stabilization even with 225+ on the bench or squat. That said, you have to control the weight and can’t just throw the bar into the rack like at a gym. I like the versatility of having individual stands you can move freely, and they store nicely in my garage. In terms of construction, they appear to me to be more than sturdy enough for all but the heaviest lifters. Caveat to that is the safety arms are a bit of a joke in the fact that they are about 3 inches long. I have not dropped a heavy load on them and don’t plan to. A note on assembly. Some reviews have said it’s difficult to assemble. It’s not complicated, but some angles are awkward and the fittings are tight. You’ll save yourself a lot of time if you have the right tool(s). The bolts and nuts are large (1/2” if I recall). If you just use wrenches to tighten everything down, it could take you hours. Get yourself an appropriate sized socket or two (a few bucks) and a ratcheting wrench or driver and you will have this done in 30 minutes max. Read more

At $65, it's worth it.

Bought this 2 years ago. Paid pandemic prices which was about 3x the price. Oh well. I did get a lot of use out it, so not all bad. Overall, not bad, but they are wobbly. Used some weights and dumbbells to steady it (worked well with the front to back sway). I also had a couple of thread rods attached with washers and nuts (helped a bit with the side to side sway.) Just recently, I added a couple of accessories and it helped a lot. Given the current price, these accessories come close to the cost of the rack. *CAP Barbell 2-Inch Olympic Plate Holders, Attachment for FM-905Q Color Series, Black (FM-PLATE2) - - I wanted a lower level for the barbell to rest on. So now I have 3 levels: incline bench (J Hook), flat/decline (spotter arms), and floor wipers (this plate holder). So, don’t use it to put plates on (I actually have 1” plates). Works great. Holes on the rack were just wee bit small, so I had to take a drill to it. Took less than a minute to make the hole big enough. *SYL Fitness Wall Mounted Weight Plate Holder, Wall Weight Storage Rack - Fits 1" and 2" Weight Plates: I wanted to hang the weights on the rack and these work great. Used the threaded rods to attach these (it came with screws and anchors to put it in the wall). Serves 2 purposes: storing the plates and also makes the racks much sturdier. I have more plates than I use, so there’s always plates on the holder. Only drawback is that clearances a little tight for flat/decline and floor wipers, but works fine. It’s because I’m not using an Olympic bar - should be fine if you are using a 7’ bar. Good setup for a workout where you’re not max’ing out and don't need to sometimes “throw” the weight back on the rack. I wouldn't put more that 200lbs on it and you need to be pretty controlled with your lifting. At $65 with 5% coupon, it’s a 5 star (with the usage caveats). For what I paid for it, 3.5, but I’ll gave it a 4. Read more

Perfect Addition to Stand alone Bench!

It serves the purpose! I bought this bench stand to compliment with my stand alone bench. I needed something to support weight lifting as this seems to be the right fit for it. I didn't want to spend too much money on it. It serves for what I need. Very light, sturdy and affordable. Glad I made the purchase!!! Read more

Overall good product for what it's intended for and for the price!

Thanks to the pandemic, I decided to make my own little at-home gym. I enjoy lifting so when I saw this advertised and for a cheap price, I went for it. Some reviews complained that it's wobbly and not that great, but I was expecting that considering how cheap it was and when I read it can only go up to 500lbs. My boyfriend and I don't lift THAT heavy or bodybuilding style so that wasn't a downfall for us. We mostly just needed something to hold the barbell for us and this does that job. It is a bit annoying when you go to put the barbell back on after lifting because it moves a little by just bumping into it. Not a huge deal, but definitely something to note. Overall, it does what I need it to and for an affordable price until we can invest in a more top-notch product. Highly recommend for beginners to experienced lifters! Read more

Solid for such a dirt cheap price. But remember, you get what you pay for ;)

Bought these to start my home gym set up. I'm on a tight budget so I got these for squats and other barbell lifts with my bench. I don't understand all the complaints about assembly from other reviews about complexity. Made all the abuse from my wife making me put Ikea furniture together toughened me up, but I found it tedious but straight forward to get them all set. I've had up to 225 on these to date and they held up fine. That being said there's definitely some stability issues with these. As others have mentioned, highly recommend that you put additional weight on the base to reduce the chance of tipping. If weight is shifted forward, either on the top stand or the safeties, it easy to tilt it forward. I would recommend some cheap sand bangs to help add weight to the base to prevent that from happening. My other issue without a connection from stand to stand, it's ridiculous to get these things squared up properly. I have messed with lining them up forever, and as soon as I get underneath on my bench it's clear they are misaligned. I try hard not to be OCD about these type of things, but it throws me off something fierce. All in all they work and are dirt cheap. If you need to get started and are on a tight budget, you should give them a shot. If you have more money to play with or are moving serious heavy weight, I'd recommend you upgrade to something more heavy duty and sturdy. Read more
