This provides a close shave similar to the precision of many high-end foil shavers. This is dense, but it's probably because it will run for 3 hours! This makes sense if it's meant for professional barber use with battery life like that. What I Like 1️⃣ Very Close Shave (For a Foil) For short stubble (think 0–1 day growth), it gets impressively smooth—especially on the cheeks and jawline. Great for: • Cleaning up fades • Tightening up necklines • Between-haircut maintenance It delivers that barbershop “polished” finish without dragging. 2️⃣ Low Irritation I still got some irritation from first use. But if I don't push up against my skin, it is relatively low irritation. This is a good little shaver, but there are a couple of problems I have run into. The shaver comes in a very fancy box, proudly displaying the manufacturer name and the device on the cover. Inside, neatly packed, is the shaver, an instruction manual, a USB A to C cable, a mini brush, a coupon card, and a very soft velvet-like travel bag to keep it all safe. The shaver consists of three parts: the motor body with the shearing blades, the foil head, and the cover. The cover stays on with two little clips on either side that attach to the motor body; it stays snug enough to be secure but you can pull it off easily when you are ready to use it. The foil head is held on by two stronger clips integrated into the motor body, and you press a circular button on the side to release it for removal and cleaning. The actual foil is very thin, so be cautious with it. The motor body is STURDY and packs some heft, in a good way. It feels good in the hand and is very easy to maneuver. On one side is the foil head release button and directly opposite is the power button to turn on the motor. The release button can get stuck a little if you push it in really far, but will pop back out pretty easily if you wiggle it a little. Because the buttons are directly across from each other, if you grip it wrong you can also accidentally release the foil head when you turn it on which leads to a loud rattling sound, but doesn't do any damage to it. Just turn it off and reattach the foil head, then you're good to go. Now, the first time I used this I did have some skin irritation afterward. I realized in hindsight that was because I was pressing a little too hard. The second time I used it gave no irritation because I was much more cautious with it. This is very much a finesse tool, not a hack and slash, so with the foil being so thin you can get a very close, smooth shave. If you push too hard, though, just like a razor it will give some razor burn. You have to have a light touch. This foil shaver is fine and it does work to get a decent shave, but I'm not sure the quality matches the price. While it does cost significantly less than higher end models, it's not exactly a low budget option either and the quality difference is definitely noticeable compared to models that are only about $20 more expensive. I didn't find this gives the smoothest shave; it misses a lot of thinner hairs and is quite rough on coarse hairs. As other reviewers have noted, a gentle touch is needed and you will get irritation if you push too hard. My husband experienced significant irritation on his sensitive neck skin but he does have very thick, coarse hair. However, I also tested this on the fine hairs on my arm and it was unable to shave off most of the hairs, it just glided over them and they didn't catch at all even after multiple passes. I'm not crazy about the design either - multiple times I've accidentally taken the top cover/guard off the top by hitting the wrong button. The power button is in the same place opposite the button that unlatches the guard so it's really easy to hit the wrong one. Overall I think this shaver is okay but you'll still need another razor to get thicker hair shaved down before using this so I'm not sure it's very practical or necessary to have on hand. Most likely this razor is of more benefit to someone who needs to clean up their neckline in between shaves and haircuts rather than wanting a full shave. Read more
