The Clear Winner in electric screwdrivers

There's a lot of choice in electric screwdrivers and a lot of confusing specs, like "Torque" and "Speed", they are different and not interchangeable...but the one feature that is most important is variable speed, the ability to control the speed of the spin with a trigger.. to avoid stripping and jumping and potentially damaging the trim plate or whatever is being attached with the screw..., and the L2 is the least expensive choice for the DYI'er. That the little tool is beautifully made and properly weighted, that it comes with an assortment of bits, that you can use your sockets, and adjustable torque from .5 to 5, the light ring,...all features that work well and speak to the thoughtfulness of the design... but its the variable trigger speed that will matter the most to you and makes this little gem worth it. A great screwdriver for soft wood and plastics. Light and variable speed trigger.

I received the L1 version of Fanttik's screwdriver as a review item and liked it so much for small electronic and RC models that I ordered this L2 version so I would have a second one for my toolbox. L2 Pros - I like the faster top speed for long screws. The slow speed is not as slow as the L1 but is still good for soft materials. - The 20-bit magnetic bit holder in the base is great with 6 longer bits and a short extension. I wish it had a snap-on top instead of being built-in to the screwdriver stand. If it did, I would carry it in my toolbox instead of the rubber ones I carry. - The base/stand has most bits you would need, has a small footprint for your bench, and allows you to plug in a USB-C cable and charge on the stand. - I like the ring light at the front. It provides decent light in low-light situations. - The trigger shape and electronics allow me to run the driver very slowly which is good for soft materials. - The angled handle, slow speed and light weight are easy on my carpel tunnel! - This is a medium-duty driver with good build quality and sufficient battery life for moderate use. L2 Cons - The non-locking chuck is not good for hex or torx bits. - no case - The adjustable torque is a gimmick to me, and something extra to break! I learned to control an electric drill/driver over 30 years ago with my 7.2V Makita and all of my clutches/torque settings are set to maximum today! One exception to that would be if I were driving many hex or torx screws into metal, where the clutch would prevent a head shearing off. This is not a drill to use in a construction setting since it does not have a replaceable battery, so the torque setting is feature creep. I just used the L1 and L2 to assemble several particle board bookcases for my daughter and ended up using the L1 primarily since it has a locking chuck instead of a magnet to hold the bit in. On the L2 without a locking chuck, the bit came out of the screwdriver about 50% of the time, which was ve ry annoying! This head binding has happened with my Hex 1.5mm all the way up to the larger H5 included in this set. The L2 does not come with a case so it is less convenient to throw in a toolbox. I do, however, like the magnetic bit holder included in the base of the L2's stand and the 6 longer bits in the 20-bit set included with it. I decided to keep it to use with Philips and flathead screws at my bench. I ordered another L1 for my toolbox! I already carry a 20V Dewalt and full bit set, but the L1 provides finesse for precision work, and the slide-lock case keeps it from getting banged up. Compared to a box store drill/ driver it is relatively low torque, relatively slow, has a non-swapable battery, no case, and is constructed of lighter gauge plastic. Its slower speed and light weight is excellent for electronics and model bench work though! Read more

Great quality, easy to use

I bought this because I do a lot of work on high end bicycles. It makes loosening and tightening a whole bunch of Allen bolts much quicker (e.g. rotors, stems, caps, levers etc.) and it eliminates the need to mess around with a separate torque wrench on every bolt. I can replace/install components and get a bike set up in 1/4 of the time it used to take me before. It’s very intuitive and easy to use and switch settings, the fit and finish are high quality and the battery life has been great. I’ve only been using it occasionally for a few months, so I can’t speak about long term durability yet, but otherwise I highly recommend this screwdriver. Read more

Love this electric screwdriver

I love this electric screwdriver. It’s powerful enough and more ergonomically designed. I like it better than the Fanttik S1 Pro because it doesn’t rotate in your hand when encountering resistance, which causes you to have to adjust the position so you can press the action buttons. I much prefer the trigger button. Read more
