We've had 23 inch versions but now this having 5 inches longer did increase more. The added spacing allowed for the child to have 2nd pair even a 3rd pair of shoes so if a pair broke, she has backup dancing shoes. That additional space in itself speaks a lot when you pack only an exact wardrobe and have no backup. Secondly, the curtain changing room is spacious for a little dancer upwards to around 5 feet. We can't expect too much of a curtain being that sturdy, you really can't have a very sturdy portable changing room without being a permanent changing room can you? This is functional enough for the needs of a young dancer. This is way better than a duffle bag not only because of it's size, but the insulation and having a portable changing room makes this priceless. The bag itself is great, so if you are just looking for a dance bag and are not necessarily in need of the changing curtain, this one would be a good find. It rolls well, has ample pockets, looks cute, and the bag itself is very sturdy. However, when ordering a dance bag with a curtain, that is usually due to that feature being very important. Several problems arise here. The curtain ring does not come attached. It stays folded down in the bag and then manually attached when you need it. This design alone is not great, because it requires an adult tall enough to attach it, preventing the child from just pulling this out themselves. But the biggest issue is that you must use a palm sized piece to connect the inside bars to the curtain -- a piece that easily gets lost and makes this entire feature unusable.
