I got this as part of the Vine program on a whim, as I quite like trying out and comparing men's fragrances. I'd never heard of Ferragamo before, so I wasn't really expecting anything of substantial quality. I was admittedly pleasantly impressed when it arrived! First - the packaging and bottle are quite nice (see photos). I would be comfortable giving this as a gift. The sprayer is also really nice - provides a very fine mist compared to most of my other fragrances. Now, for the actual fragrance. It reminds me of a sort of in-between cross of Varvatos Vintage and Burberry Brit Rhythm. I'm a big fan of my now 15-ish year old bottle of Varvatos Vintage, as I love the softer leather and tobacco notes, and it doesn't come off as trying too hard to be hyper-masculine. It's nearly out, so I've been wondering what to replace it with as my go-to fall/winter fragrance, and Sublime Leather might just be the winner, by complete chance! Unlike Vintage, it doesn't have tobacco notes, but instead leans into the woods, tonka and vanilla bean notes. Personally, I find it a bit too strong in tonka, but I'm also a bit sensitive to that as my mother used to wear a very overpowered tonka-forward perfume. Comparing to Burberry Brit Rhythm - a lot of the top notes are very similar, but it diverges quickly after it dries and the scent lingers. Brit Rhythm has a bit of an almost sickeningly-sweet smell to me - sometimes even gives me headaches - and also seems a bit synthetic compared to Sublime Leather. I did a day test with a spray on each wrist, and Sublime Leather won in both pleasing fragrance and longevity. By the end of the day - the Brit Rhythm had completely faded, but Sublime Leather was still noticeable and strong without being overpowering. It smelled very natural to me. As for sillage, I'd say Sublime Leather is moderate to strong. The first time I put it on, I did a couple of sprays and it was definitely too much - I had to wash some off to get it to a tolerable level. One spray on the chest will definitely go a long way! Overall, I think this is a solid men's fragrance, and plan to wear it regularly this fall and winter. It's not a 100% replacement for my Vintage, and I may still try to find something with more tobacco notes. I'm impressed enough, though, that I may give some other Ferragamo fragrances a try! I am a sucker for most things leather scented, so when I had the opportunity to try this fragrance from a brand like Ferragamo, I was all onboard. I've known the name as high quality fashion and fragrance for years and I feel this frangrance lives up to that quality. Now, unfortunately, this did not really have any discernable leather scent to me, even after dry down. Don't get me wrong, It did smell great, just don't expect a noticeable leather fragrance. This is a deep, heavy fragrance which has staying power. It's strong, but not overpowering, as long as you don't bathe in it. A couple of spritzes is plenty for a nice fragrance that calls your name, but doesn't yell it. This is definitely a rich fall/winter scent, in my opinion. All of the frangrance notes blend together nicely to create a sort of warm musky, woodsy, masculine scent that would go well with both a sweater and nights by the fire or a dressed up night on the town. The bottle is very sleek and masculine looking. It has some weight to it and feels high end. The spray nozzle works well and I've noticed no issues with dispensing the fragrance. It comes in a branded box that is appropriate for gift giving and it is sealed in a celophane wrapper, so you know it is not a returned product that has been used. I checked the Ferragamo website and the price for the larger bottle on Amazon is the same as the brand website, but I didn't see an option for this smaller bottle, so this is a great value if you want to try the fragrance before committing to the larger bottle. Shipping is faster on Amazon, so win/win. I really like this fragrance and I'm sure my husband will enjoy wearing it. I deducted one star only due to the lack of leather scent. Read more

This is a nice leather fragrance with good projection and longetivity. It has a spicy element to the leather and has a woody and cinnamon note with davana. The bottle and sprayer are high quality and the presentation and look of the bottle is handsome and would make a nice gift. The price is what I would expect from a higher-end brand and the scent is versatile and could be used at the office or for a date as it is a mature scent. Read more
