Straight-down bass

I was attracted to this IEM because I NEED a straight-down low profile design with good bass. I've had many IEMs throughout the years but it was getting to a point where I was starting to dislike over-the-ear design. It takes too long to put them on and take them off and most over the ear IEMs are too bulky. I want to use headphones like back in the day where they wire is straight down. So it led me to Final Audio as they were one of the only companies that was doing straight-down design IEMs. For years I used Final Audio E2000's. They're my "sock" IEMs. Meaning, just like cheap socks you just have a few pairs. And for all intents and purposes they sound pretty damn good. And whenever you lose them you just get some extra. And they're tiny you can sleep with them in pure comfort. But came a time where I just wanted a bit more bass that's what led me to Final E5000. So I got these Final E5000's and they're pretty damn awesome but there's a few things to note for people considering them. First, I hated the cable that they came with, I wish the cable was black. The white cable just sticks out like a sore thumb if you wear it with dark clothes (which I normally do). So I took one of my old IEMs MMCX dark gray cable and removed the over the ear part of it so it hangs straight down and attached it to these. So now it's much better. Next, these puppies are hard to drive. You must have something like a FIIO A3 for portable listening. Otherwise, the volume will just be too low and you won't get the full bass. I use these IEMs with my SSL 2+ directly and its loud enough. But if I'm out and about with some audio player I MUST attach the FIIO A3 to my audio player for it to sound good. Lastly, let's talk about the sound. Because it's a single driver it just sounds way more organic and natural than those hybrid IEMs that have a specific BA driver for the higher frequencies and makes it very "shouty". Most Hybrid's I found do that. But this is more subdued in the highs but that's what I like about these. It's warm yet still very hifi. It sounds like a good pair of old speakers and there's something comfortable in that. Now what I like about these headphones specifically is their bass. It rumbles in your head. And you can push it to distortion (especially with a headphone amp) and I just like how it distorts and just rumbles and grumbles and how much of the headphone is in the lower end. That's what I've been attracted to lately. I literally am looking for IEMs that rattle my brain. Are these the best bass IEM's in the world? no. But usually those are bulky and over the ear. But these might be the best straight-down bass IEM with a small profile. Read more

Finally I picked a good, no a GREAT, headphone

I wouldn't label myself as an audiophile. That would be disrespectful to that community. However, I've been an enthusiast of Hi-Fi audio since I was a kid. It started with my dad's Hi-Fi system, which started modestly but ended with a quality system that included Klipsch speakers. I fell out of having high-quality audio equipment after I stopped listening to music (like obsessively, as in one's teens). Recently, I started to enjoy music again, so I decided to try to find good-quality headphones and speakers. So far, I've wasted much money on headphones and was about to give up until I found a DAC I liked for my Pixel 8. Since I had a quality DAC, I decided to try to find quality headphones to pair with it. After searching for days and researching online, I listed potential headphones. Most, if not all, on the list were known as Chi-Phi models. I know that term can be a bit divisive, but because of the lack of a better term, I'm sticking with it (for now, at least). Most headphones on the list always seem to excel at one thing but lack other qualities. After reading reviews on audio sites, I decided to try the Final E5000s. These headphones/IEMs are everything all the online reviews claim they are. The sound quality is great, encompassing the entire range (low, mid, and high) of sound. The bass is deep and hard, the mids are complete, and the highs are clear but not overwhelming. After years of searching, I finally found a pair of headphones I could enjoy using. If you're looking for good quality "HD" audio quality headphones and don't want to spend too much, these are a great option. They're not cheap but not as expensive as the higher-end models. You will not be disappointed. Read more

Careful with these

Edit 08/19/20: It took some time, but they issued a full replacement for my problem without charging me or challenging my warranty. I’ll give them a star for that. These headphones sound very nice and are very light and portable. But they aren’t durable. I took care of them and treated them gently for 7 months. One earphone started to give me a much lower volume than the other. When I removed the wire to check out the connector, the wire broke right at the connector. I’ve never had headphones that broke so easily, especially for this price. Read more

Amazingly Brilliant sound when properly Driven

When plugged into an iPhone via lightning to 3.5mm adapter, the sound is clear with a very slight vee response curve. Sound pressure levels are very low and will leave you disappointed. This was expected with the low impedance of the driver. When paired with a FiiO BTR15, WOW!! Imagine being in a concert hall with the band and you are working the mixing board. With the equalizer and gain adjustments and more power than you can use, these guys make the music come to life. True studio quality! They do a great job sealing out wind and road noise. I use them on a cross country motorcycle wearing an open helmet and have no noticeable background noise BUT....Remember....They have to be driven by more than a phone. Read more
