This is a clone of the ProMountings I-Beam mounted pull up bar. My training partner has the ProMounting unit (ie "the yellow one") and I was impressed with its solid structure and ability to support my 240+ pounds swinging from grip to grip like a monkey. So I ordered one as soon as I got home! I ordered the FirstLaw Fitness clone because it was $10 cheaper. I have to edit my review in favor of FirstLaw Fitness: I did not see their other products that have the permanent grip coatings on the bars (for the same price), and was initially disappointed to receive a product without the standard foam coatings that you'd expect - only to find two rolls of colored grip tape in the box instead. This was *my* mistake and I've edited my review to more appropriately reflect FirstLaw's offerings: you get to pick either a clean bar with two rolls of grip tape to add at your leisure OR what I perceived to be the standard foam-coated bars - for the same price. As best I can tell this version and the ProMounting brand are identical in design, mounting and features. Both are made of heavy gauge steel and should hold just about anything you want to hang from them, with the FirstLaw Fitness version being $10 cheaper at the moment. The caveat here is that some people may prefer the coated steel tube without any foam texturing, if so then this version is for you - otherwise be sure to check out the other variants before placing that 1-click order! Additionally, I wanted to edit my post to mention that within an hour of my review, FirstLaw Fitness reached out to me to correct the order (again, due to my ignorance for not reading and understanding the options in grip texture). That is stellar customer service and certainly worth noting here. After installing the product, testing it and then having someone reach out to me after-hours for customer service has resulted in an unequivocal 5 star rating. Read more
Solid pull up bar. Be careful when assembling. I accidentally put the curved bar under the straight bars (which isn't as strong). Be sure to put it above. Read more

This product was easily installed and works great. Both my son and I work our fitness plans with this equipment in the rotation. If you don't belong to a gym and want to improve your ability to do pull-ups, this is a great product. Only requires an I-beam to mount it on. Since our basement is unfinished, that worked for us. The first thing I noticed when receiving the package was how heavy it was. I could tell right away this thing was built to last a long time. The second thing I noticed was how well packaged it was with plenty of foam and separation between the pieces. That's why I was surprised when I noticed a couple of deep scratches on the angled handle portion of the bar because it definitely didn't happen during shipping. The scratches were deep enough to show bare metal and feel with my nail. It's not enough of a problem to return and exchange since it's covered up with the grip tape, but I was disappointed in that and that's the reason to deduct from the rating (wish I could deduct just half a star though). Other than that, installation was super easy and the final product is great. I'm overall really happy and think the high price point is justified given the quality. Read more

There's no better choice out there. Once it is installed it wont budge. This is the safest set up for pullup bar by far, I've leaned back, and tried swinging to test it. Two things to keep in mind: 1) installs flush to the beam so if your ceiling clearance is low, you won't be able to do things like muscle-ups and the distance from the floor might be something to consider. 2) the wraps it brings become SUPER sticky, get your own. It goes from minor inconvenience to feeling like it might rip off the skin in your palms. Read more

First off, this thing is heavy, which is great. You are not being short changed with flimsy materials on this. Once installed to your ibeam, I'm pretty sure you could hang your car off this thing. Worth the money. FYI, you'll need a 14mm socket screwdriver for easiest installation. Read more
