These are neither trousers nor athletic but they are quite cute and fashionable casual pants. The fabric is mostly polyester and the tag says it has 3% elastane but I think it has less than 0.5% elastane. They have virtually no stretch so doing exercises in these pants would be quite a feat. Still, you can throw on these pants and pair them with a white crop top, platform sneakers, shades, and go shopping or hang out. You will look great and people will likely comment on the flair that is the white ribbons flying loosely in the wind. I haven't seen anyone wearing these type of pants so they would definitely create interest for onlookers. (If you must, you could remove the loose ribbons without damaging the pants but you need to know what you are doing.) It is important to know that the medium size is really for a size 4 to 6 body only. The waist band measures approximately 28 inches (and has no stretch) and the inseam is 29 inches. These pants are perfect if you want to pull off a Y2K look! It is also very comfortable and the materials are very nice. Kind of like a windbreaker and is nice for the fall and early winter. You can honestly wear it in the winter as well if you wear another layer underneath. It is a medium thickness and the design is very minimal and chic.
