These are my favorite looking and working based dash cams. This is not the first time I have bought from this company. The camera fits exactly into the factory plastics, and connects into the factory wiring. You don't have to run wiring or anything extra. These are way cheaper then some OEM dash cams and the picture quality is really clean, even at night. The app works ok, most people will just take the Micro SD card out and plug it into a computer to find what they are looking for. However the app does let you save videos just in case you can't get to a computer. All the settings are in the app from what frame rate to quality of the video. Has a couple other settings if you want date and time. Once the app is setup you really don't log into it unless you need some footage. I replaced the SD card with a 512gb, if you replace your SD card make sure you get a endurance or work card such as Western Digital purple or similar. Don't just shove a cheap one in. Might last a while but that is not what they were designed for. Read more

2019 Ram 1500 front camera only. My first dashcam and I wanted a neat and clean OEM look with simple wiring. The FITCAMX was exactly that. You simply replace the original rear view mirror housing with the new FITCAMX housing which looks almost exactly like the original with a slight extension which houses the camera. It looks like it came from the factory and the quality is just as good. Power for the camera comes from an included adapter harness which plugs inline with the mirror power wire. All plug and play, no cutting or splicing and no visible wiring. The RAM 1500 has a couple of different mirror housing covers depending on the model and the installation video was not exactly like mine but basically the housing and windshield trim piece just snap off and on. Easy to figure out and took me 20 minutes at most from start to finish, as I had reviewed the installation videos carefully beforehand. The free FITCAMX app that you can download will allow you to watch live video on your phone and review it later but it is not necessary to use the camera. The camera powers up automatically and starts recording when you start the car and powers off when the ignition is off. Video is stored automatically in a micro SD card which you can remove and play on your computer without needing an app. This is my first dashcam so I can't compare but I thought the video quality was excellent and the field of view was very good (170 degrees, I think). At this point I am well satisfied. Read more

Install was a little tricky, took a few times to get it all snapped together. But it is worth it for the factory look, no one knows a dash camera is there. No having to run wires is a plus too. Video quality is pretty good, you can change the settings in the app for better quality, but chose to leave it the factory setting to make downloads easier. Starts recording when I start the truck, I don’t even think about it anymore. The app is alright, Initial setup was easy. I went back a few months to just check it is operating, and could not connect to the camera. I had to forget the WiFi address, and start over like it was the first time pairing with the camera, and it connected after a few tries. The camera records in 60 sec. intervals. For a 1 hour drive, you will have 60 clips saved. This is actually better, as it’s easier to find exact moments during a drive, and makes the downloaded file smaller. Overall I am extremely happy with the purchase, probably the best purchase of the year! Read more

Decent fitment but should have the rubber pads pre installed. For the model I have 24 Ram 2500 they do not include the 3 rubber pads to keep It from rattling against the windows. You have to transfer them over from the oem cover. The problem I had was one of the 3 oem pads broke while removing it from the oem cover. Forcing me to come up with another alternative. I install commercial doors from time to time so I was able use a rubber door pad one the front. But I feel Buying an oem fitment camera I shouldn’t have to be spending the time moving the pads over then trying to come up with a solution for the broken pad. When the manufacturer should have either installed them or included the rubber pads. As for the quality of the camera it’s pretty good. The app for it is simple to setup and use. The connectors fit well. The plastic cover fit well also. Read more

Had very little difficulty installing this product. Remember to remove the rubber bumpers from you original plastic housing and install on the Fitcamx housing prior to installation. This insures a 'tight' fit to your windshield. For those whining about not being able to connect to more than one Wifi program at a time... that's a constant throughout all Wifi connections. Disable what you do not currently want to use and enable the program you do want to use. This limitation, as is found throughout all Wifi connections is not a reason to downgrade this product. High quality video costs several hundred dollars, whether it be camera, camcorder, or even Go Pro. Expecting GoPro results from a camera that costs 1/3 the price with the benefit of having an OEM housing feature is unrealistic. It works, has an OEM look, and the video quality is decent for the money paid for the product. Perfect video quality compared to other GoPro type cameras at three times the price... no, but it is far superior to suction cup wire hanging features of other dash cams. Read more

Very good quality product. Installation is instructions (video) could be a lil better. Prying with the lil bar only works if you squeeze the shield on the OEM. Also the OEM rubber bumpers need to be transferred to the new parts. Otherwise was fairly simple. Connection to the camera via WiFi is cumbersome when Uconnect is persistent in wanting to connect.
