Fitcamx 4K Dash Cam Suitable for Volvo XC40 XC40 Recharge B4 B5 T4 T5 P8 Model B Integrated

I purchased this for my Volvo XC40 Recharge after an experience with a road rager. After I ordered, FitcamX messaged me inside of Amazon to ask for the year, make, model of the vehicle, and a photo of the the rear view mirror (back side) to ensure that I chose the correct model (there are two, Model A and B). I had selected the correct model - but it was nice to know that the company checks to make sure that they send the correct one. It arrived about a week ahead of schedule. I had already watched a video as to how to install it - it was simple: Use the tool to remove the plate from behind the rear view mirror Unplug the green connector (I had to use needlenose pliers to do so, which was simple) Attach the power splitter, attach the camera cable, push the wires back into the console, snap the camera in place. That's it - 5 minutes (OK, I'm good with these things, but seriously, anyone can do this in 10 mins). The camera powers up when you start the car - as soon as I'm far enough away from the house (away from my home network), my iPhone connects to the camera (this just tells me that camera is working and on), but you don't have to check if it connects - it doesn't have to connect to your phone to record, but you do have to connect to it to view recordings and to download any you want to save). The video quality is great! No complaints at all! In fact, I ordered one today for my wife's car as well. For $169, you cannot go wrong. Plus, it looks OEM - barely noticeable and fits behind the mirror, so it's unobtrusive. Highly recommended. Read more

This brand/model of dash cam was recommended by a lot of fellow Volvo owners on a forum, so I purchased it. It was the perfect solution. Not only very straight-forward to install, but once done, it looks like an original piece of equipment in the car. No wires, nothing suction-cupped to a windscreen, etc. The app/controls aren't the most sophisticated, but it gets the job done well. The manufacturer provides a useful installation video - no special skills around wiring or otherwise required. It's essentially plug-and-play. However, be aware - while installation is straight-forward, it does take patience and some dexterity to re-fit the two vehicle pieces around the rear-view mirror at the end. I got it done in 5 minutes - others have spent a lot more time on it, especially with the small cover at the front side of the rear-view mirror stem. The media could not be loaded. First, the camera is excellent. It was easy to set up on our C40 and it takes great video. I also love that the contours of the camera match the mirror trim precisely. Second, the purchase support provided was top notch. I accidentally ordered the camera for the XC40 Recharfe. After the purchase, they contacted me to verify my vehicle and asked me to provide a picture of the mirror trim so that they could verify I had ordered the correct camera prior to shipping. But, I had actually purchased the camera prior to taking delivery on the vehicle and they shipped the camera. Once I had the car, I sent the photo and they let me know I had ordered the wrong camera and they had already shipped it. But, they took care of my mistake and shipped the correct casing that would match the vehicle (at no cost to me,) along with providing a video on how to change the camera casing. We received everything and were able to follow the instructions to switch the casing over. We were able to install the camera in the vehicle easily after that. Great service! Read more

Bought this two years ago and now the clips always revert to a 1/1/2023 time stamp. Messaged their customer support and they’re telling me I need to solder a new lithium battery to my unit. I’ll just buy something else, that’s wild to me as a reasonable solution. Read more
