This has to be the best, if not one of the best dashcams on the market. The installation was a breeze. I purchased the 4k Front Cam with the rear camera for a ‘20-’24 Toyota Highlander. Ordered it August 31, received it the same day. Installed on September 1st. Removing and reattching the plastic trim behind the rear view mirror for the front camera was probably the hardest part of the installation, which took me probably 10 minutes. Everything was just plug and play. The camera fits perfectly there that you don’t even notice it. Simple tucking of the wire for the rearview camera. 10-15 minutes top for the rear camera. The part I love the most; No wires that need to be spliced or anything. The app is easy to navigate and the video quality in the app is pretty darn good. I’m satisfied with the installation and the performance of the dashcam so far a couple days in. As always, after a couple weeks if there are any hiccups I’ll update the review, if not, I’ll leave the review alone. But this is a definite must buy if FitCamX makes a dashcam for your vehicle. Simply put do not get this product! This dash cam is all show and no go. There’s gonna be better out there. Oh, it looks nice and sleek and fits in your front windshield and back windshield very well, it is however utterly ridiculous. Here’s why: In order for you to use this, you have to turn it on each time you get in the car through your phone app. You have to make sure the connection goes through first on the app and then you have to switch to your settings and make sure that that connection links up with the Wi-Fi in your car. Then, if that’s not enough, it will only record as your car drives as soon as you stop your car let’s say at 7-Eleven or something to get a drink and then get back in your car and continue driving, you gotta turn it on again and go through all of that!! Utterly ridiculous! Then if that’s not enough in order for you to to download your recordings and transfer them you have to get in your car turn your car on initiate the app and then download each individual video one at a time that and it takes forever!! This is a piece of junk!!! Whatever you do, don’t waste your money on this there’s gonna be better out there. Whoever thought this up just went through the motions and basically “phoned” this in. This product was not thought through at all, nor was how to capture the videos and keep them thought through either simply put they didn’t care. They just threw something together here. If that’s not enough, I watched a video on YouTube that showed an owner who tried to get a hold of the company and they didn’t respond to him. They ghosted him. The whole concept is nice and having the camera for as if it came with car is very nice and stylish. However, camera glitches sometimes and the major flaw for me was that the camera does not connect to the WiFi automatically. The seller claimed that it connects once you enter the car and the car is on, this has not been the case for me. I could be driving for days only to realize that it hasn’t been recording. Had an accident happen in front of me and couldn’t pull anything from my feed because it was not recorded for like a whole week. The WiFi is set to auto join but it never happens , you’ll have to manually connect the camera every time you get in the car in order to start recording. DISAPPOINTED!!! I hate that I have to return this. I traded my 21 Lexus which had a Fitcamx a week ago, really liked it, and wanted to replace it in my new Hybrid. While this may fit most Highlanders, there must have been enough of a design change so it does NOT fit the 2026 Grand Highlander Platinum Max Hybrid. The replacement 'shell' that holds the camera is about 3/8 inch too small and the internal wire connections do not match. (watch the installation video to understand). If you get one, before you try to install, hold the old shell and new shell together to see if they are same width. I gave it 4 stars because of good experience with old one. If it fit my car I'd be happy to keep it. Installation would have been fairly easy (even for an olde guy like me) if it had fit. Read more

We have only had it installed for a short while. The dash cam was pretty easy to install and the picture looks good; however, our first viewing of the recordings did not include video from the rear camera. We will continue to explore this, but input would be appreciated. Update: After rechecking the settings and doing some more driving, the rear camera is recording fine as well. Read more
