This is our new go to for smoothies. We increased our focus on nutrition a couple of years ago and cacao powder became a staple for a chocolate fix in a healthier form. We use it in baking and smoothies. I came across an article on the benefits of flavanols and have made an effort to increase my daily intake. This company has some really good chocolate bars (roasted almond + pink Himalayan sea salt is my favorite) but in the warmer weather I prefer a smoothie. I tried this and it has replaced our cacao powder. It has a high concentration of flavanols and tastes great. It doesn’t have added sugar, so you have to sweeten it (I prefer fruit but sometimes add a bit of agave for the kids). My pre-workout energy boost this summer has been a scoop of this with some ice, unsweetened almond milk, a banana, and sometimes a bit of almond butter (depends on calorie goals). If I have it post-workout, I add some protein powder as well. Read more
I haven't been using it long enough to see effects but so far I like it. Here's a recipe I came up with for a tasty smoothie: FlavaMix Smoothie Recipe Ingredients: • 8 oz almond milk • 4 oz whole milk • 1 scoop FlavaMix (from the jar) • 1 tablespoon Hershey’s chocolate syrup • 2 packets of Stevia in the Raw • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract • 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed • 2 tablespoons chia seeds • 12 oz ice cubes Method: • Add all ingredients into a 32 oz Ninja bullet cup • Blend using the Auto iQ (40 seconds) • Yields about 24–30 oz—perfect for pouring into a 30 oz insulated cup Read more
I enjoy this cocoa powder. For me, it has a truly divine dark (extremely dark) chocolate flavor to it. I mix it in with my coffee in the morning and oddly enough, I feel it has helped the quality of my sleep. It doesn't completely dissolve when mixed in, but I would expect that of a true cocoa powder that doesn't consist mostly of sugar (like a Swiss miss hot chocolate mix). The only thing I'm not fond of, is that it seems to stick to the container. Maybe a resealable bag would be better. But that's just a personal gripe. Other than that, I feel it's likely true to the 900mg of cocoa flavanols (I'm not actually sure how to determine that to say whether it's a high quality supplement) and have added to my subscribe and save items. I originally also had problems getting the powder to properly dissolve in my drink or coffee but recently purchased a milk frother and use it to dissolve the powder. I start the frother and after a few seconds when the milk froths up, I slowly tap in the powder into the swirling milke until it is gone. Then I pour the milk into my coffee for a frothy drink. The powder stays almost completely dissolved until I finish. Works great. Read more
Quality product! Difficult to mix in cold fluids, but easier in warm like almond milk. Taste is good. Will purchase again. Read more
Tastes terrible and didn't see any benefit from it. Read more

This stuff sucks! A: It will NOT fully dissolve no matter how long you stir it! B: IT CLUMPS! I've tried sifting it through a tea-strainer, and it refuses to turn into a fine powder. C: Once stirred into BOILING water, OR hot water it settles out into your cup making the contents of your cup look more like dirty tea than cocoa! D: NOT VERY FLAVORFUL! In summary, IF YOU DONT MIND PEE-WARM COCOA FROM STIRRING IT CONSTANTLY TO KEEP IT IN SUSPENSION, YOU CAN ENJOY A CUP OF FLAVORLESS WATER. Read more
