This jacket is much higher quality than I was expecting. The only issue I had was I am too long waisted for the XL, so I had to return it and get the XXL. The XL fit everywhere except length, so somewhat disappointed to lose the nice fit in the shoulders and arms just to get it long enough... but it's not the jacket's fault I need an XLT and it's not an option. The size of the jacket is true to size, width-wise. But there is no indication of how long it is, and it's actually quite short. On the model, it appears that the jacket goes substantially below the waist line; in real life, it turns out to be just below the belt, on top of hips. So it's shorter than it appears. Other than that, the description is pretty accurate. It's polyester top, covered with something to make it waterproof. Nice soft lining, and the jacket is quite warm. I would not call it "winter" jacket - it's probably good enough for late Fall in midwest, before snow hits the ground. "Sherpa" refers to the soft bristles, not the quality or quantitiy of lining. Good quality stitching, nice deep pockets, well-working zipper. The jacket comes packaged in vacuum bag, so it's really heavily pressed and needs time for wrinkles to smooth out. It's been a few days, but the wrinkles are still noticeable, and I hope they disappear eventually, since it can't be ironed. Price-wise, it's hard to tell. -The price point of about $60 USD when I requested this seemed fine. -I gave this to my cousin for Christmas THINKING I was giving him a nice jacket, but the price is now $24.99 USD down from $39.99? -I don't know how I feel about the price being changed so wildly without any indication of why or what the pricing really used to be. Something doesn't make sense here. -The sherpa is not real. I think the word SHERPA in the title should be removed since it's not really clarified until you read the materials. -So hopefully this isn't falling apart already, I won't know since it's a gift. -The size large seemed a bit small to me but thankfully it seemed to fit him great. It has a water proof wax coating and it's warm. The wind will not blow right through this coat so it should be great on cold winter days. No chemical smells when taken out of the packaging. Fit as expected based on sizing. One interior pocket with Velcro. One exterior zipped pocket. Two exterior pockets with no closures. Elastic on the arms and waist to hold heat in. We moved not long ago to a part of the state that has extreme cold and snow in the winter. Hubby needed a medium-weight jacket that would still keep him toasty. I saw this sherpa-lined waxed canvas jacket at a great price, and ordered. This is a great jacket. It is very well made with high quality materials. The sewing and all stitching is very well done, all seams meet well, and there were no loose threads. The zipper feels very strong and durable, and inserts and zips well. The shell is 100% cotton, and looks great. The collar is high-quality corduroy, and the contrast with the smooth jacket is quite manly. The pockets are well done. The cuffs have some stretch for a good fit, and there is a bit of stretch on the thighs, too. The jacket is waterproof and windproof, and is perfect for Hubby to wear on the blustery but not freezing days. The lining is soft and comfy and keeps him warm--and is is one of those guys who is usually cold. The jacket is also washable, which is a real plus. The sizing was very accurate and the jacket fits Hubby well. He is very pleased with it, he looks great in it, and we recommend it.
