I live in a small 1 bedroom apartment coming from a large home, rather than waste money on a storage unit while I work on downsizing my belongings, my closet is that storage unit and this right here, is perfect for extra storage to hang your clothes or to hang those non-dryer items. The price is excellent as well, if you went to a box store and bought one of those rolling, flimsy bars on wheels, you'd pay much more and have buyers remose, this is a Great Product and the price is just right! The length is adjustable; however, it’s easy to hit it against the wall when opening the door if the door is located in the corner of a room—as most are—even when set to the shortest length. Since it hits against the wall and stops the door from opening further, this can effectively reduce the space to fit through the door by half—yeah, that's right; if it's on a door in a corner of the room, you'd only have about 45° of space to walk through, and that's if using the shortest length—using a longer length means it'd strike the door earlier and allow you even less space to pass through. Try imagining that before buying this. (However, if it's on a closet door or other door in the middle of a room, this may not be the case, though I haven't tried.) This can also go on the inside or other side of a door as well. It’s easy to open and easy to close when not in use, which was one of the main features I looked for when purchasing it. Funny enough, I haven't bothered to close it because I'm always using it to hang stuff (that's why I bought it). The thick bar doesn’t have any grooves, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing—it just depends on your preference. The thin bars on the sides do have wave-like grooves that can also be used for hanging items. Though, personally, I prefer the smooth main bar because it allows me to hang as many items as I want and wherever I want without being limited to fixed grooves or worrying about fitting a hanger into a tiny groove like I've seen in many others, and it also lets me slide hangers around freely. If you have hard or wooden hangers on the thick bar and move the door, they may swing and hit the door a few times, which can be a bit annoying, as it is for me. The door hanger or bar is a bit higher than it needs to be, and being lower so things are easier to reach would be a lot better. It's not that I can't reach it or am a very short person, but if I have to raise my hand above shoulder height, I feel that I'd be using more effort than is necessary to do a simple thing. Just try raising your hand above your shoulder a few times and you may feel your shoulder going to work and understand what I'm getting at. Read more
