I was skeptical about this because fold out furniture can be hit or miss. As a chair it is firm but comfortable enough for sitting. Not plush sofa comfortable, but supportive. The fabric feels durable and not thin. When you unfold it into the bed position it lays fairly flat. It is not a thick mattress obviously, but for a guest overnight or a kid sleepover it works. I'm using it occasionally as a toddler bed for when family stays over. The pillow is basic and firm, but usable. The cover being removable is important. I checked and it does unzip so you can wash it. It folds back up without a fight. No complicated mechanism. Just fold and tuck. If you are expecting luxury mattress comfort this is not that. I ordered this sofa bed as an emergency option to keep in our storm shelter. Well, last week we got a chance to use it with the storm system that passed through the central USA. i like this type of furniture for my livingroom. its easy to fold out if you want to lay on it or the kids want a sleep over or to lounge while playing games. i actually ordered 2 of these same chairs and stacked them in a way so that i had a taller chair to sit on in my room. the material is soft, almost like corduroy, and the chair itself is soft but supportive. you dont sink all the way down into it. comes with a little pillow as well. overall quality is pretty good, and the price is very affordable. i have my whole living room furnished with this type of furniture. i also like how its easy to put the chairs in whatever configuration you want to.
