Sobre este artículo

  • HANDS-FREE BEATS: the Meinl Foot Tambourine slips over your shoe so you can tap your foot to accent beats; it lets you easily add percussion while your hands are busy playing other instruments
  • WHY IT MATTERS: layering your music with new sounds gives your performance movement, especially if you're playing solo acoustic gigs on guitar or backing a band on a cajon
  • DRIVING THE SOUND: the tambourine effect comes from its four pairs of stainless steel jingles that have medium-bright tone and controllable volume; these are the same jingles used on some of our professional tambourines
  • OF NOTE: you don't need exaggerated foot movements to get a solid sound; the jingles face forward to easily activate so you can play with comfort and accuracy
  • UNIVERSAL FIT: wear over shoes, boots, or heels; the elastic band slips on easily with a secure fit so it doesn't slide off or move out of place during the middle of your song
  • BY THE NUMBERS: the Siam oak body measures 4" L x 2 3/4" W x 1 1/2" H, and the whole instrument weighs 3 ounces
  • THE BOTTOM LINE: it's easy for anyone to play, and you don't need any prior skill; recommended for any musician wanting to add percussion to their acoustic set
  • THE BIG PICTURE: Meinl is a family-owned musical instrument manufacturer and brand established 1951 in Germany; our expert German designers have deep relationships with our builders to ensure you're delivered the absolute finest quality

Great little piece of kit

Great little piece of kit, but the elastic band is tight on an average shoe, and broke on first day of use. easy enough to fix, and not necessarily a killer for such an inexpensive item. I did not feel the need to contact the company...I am sure I could have returned it. The fix required a grand total of 30 seconds. Read more

Love it though elastic foot strap is snug with shoes on.

I love this and it's plenty loud for my uses. My only complaint is that the elastic is snug and my feet are women's size 9. 'm surprised this didn't have an adjustable strap like their foot shaker does but I can probably lace my shoe laces over it to secure it or make some other adaptation. Wonderful that it's made in the USA and is well made. Read more

Great idea!

I'm one-third of a semi-pro acoustic trio and have tried to rig typical tambourines in ways that I could stomp or shake them while standing and playing a stringed instrument and ended up frustrated. This nifty and well designed foot tambourine is the answer! While you don't get nearly as many jingles as with a standard tambourine, it's small enough that it doesn't flop around on your foot or have so much weight that it pulls you off balance! It gives just enough sound to be a nice background rhythm instrument. The two toughest things about using one of these are: 1. Despite having a pretty good sense of rhythm, it's not as easy as you might think to stay precisely on beat with one of these as it is just tapping your foot. 2. Don't even think about stomping this thing at a rate of twice each four-beat bar -- your leg will be exhausted halfway through the song! Read more

CUTE LITTLE GADGET BUT NOT REALLY EFFICIENT

It’s a nice little addition to a performance but most times. It fits over any shoe, and it’s really sturdy and well-made. You don’t even really notice that it’s on your foot because of how lightweight and comfortable it is. The downside for me, is that you really have to stomp to get any good sound out of it. A simple toe tap isn’t nearly enough. But I’ve used it for little performances and it works for small crowds that can be close enough to hear it. Read more

Kept me drumming thru the pain!

As a drummer since 1977 I’ve had/have a lot of percussion tools I recently broke my left collarbone and had to strip my full kit to an acoustic bass drum & hi-hat (my legs&feet were fine!) and a Djembe hand drum. This mini foot/toe tambourine came in rather handy. Collarbone is still broken but I’m back to my full kit and I perform weekly on the weekends. Read more
