At first have tried to measure the voltage with multimeter before connecting it to a 12V battery, and got 0.11V instead of the expected 12.6+V. So thought it was defective and would not work. But then tested it by connecting it to my 12V lawn tractor which has not been used for a long time. Before connecting, the battery voltage was 12.3. After connecting and seeing the quick flashing green light (charging) for 1-2 minutes, then the flashing changed to mix more random flashing green. Checked the voltage and it was charging at 13.6V. Wanted to wait for a steady green, but after giving it 6 minutes, I stopped, disconnected, and measured battery voltage, and it has been charged up to 12.8V. The one thing I wish is that has better instruction, so I would not have at first doubted if it was working before connected to a battery. It is a great safety feature and they should have highlighted it in its instruction. Read more

This Makita adapter really does work well at converting the 18v to 12v for jump starting or easily powering other 12v devices. A fresh battery gave me a reading of around 13.5v at the clamps. It’s really easy to use. Plug in the battery and the adapter will light up green. It has some built in protection and you won’t get a reading on the clamps until you actually hook it up to a battery. The build quality is good and the plastic is thick and solid. Everything feels good. If you have a lot of Makita batteries then this is a great addition to your batteries. Read more
