Like most other cotton-tipped applicator I've used with a wooden shaft, the wood is sometimes a little rough in texture. I buy them on the regular, from various brands, and they're all like this, so it's pretty much on par with the others in that regard, but for the most part these applicators from ForPro are free of splinters, and the wood is reasonably strong, and doesn't tend to snap on me during use. It has a small amount of flex, but of course not to the extent of plastic shaft applicators, though, these wooden ones are considerably more cost effective, and likely better for the environment. The cotton tips are also tightly spun, and hold together well, without shedding loose strands of cotton, and they absorb liquids reasonably well for the amount of cotton there is, without deteriorating. I would prefer a tiny bit more cotton, but it's entirely fine, and again, fairly similar to others I've used. Each applicator is individually wrapped, and the pouches all have a strong seal. They were all in good shape, and are consistent throughout the batch. It's also a really good value for the 200 count. I use them for all kinds of things, from wound care, to cleaning electronics, they're quite versatile and useful. They're long enough to get to hard to reach spots, but still allow for good control. I normally wouldn't care much about the box being squished, but it does make it harder to stack it easily, so it's a bit annoying. Thankfully the applicator sticks themselves don't seem to be broken, so I guess that's the important part. Read more

They do not bend or snap easily when I apply pressure, which is a common issue with plastic or thin paper sticks. This makes them ideal for tasks requiring precision and firmness, such as applying small amounts of topical medication or carefully touching up paint. The cotton tip is firm and securely attached. It’s densely packed, not flimsy, so it holds its shape well and doesn't leave loose fibers behind. The tips are also very absorbent.
