These are good quality gloves. They feel a bit tight, although the length of the finger fi perfectly. The fabric is very breathable, just as the previous Fox gloves I had. They are very well reinforced in the palm of the hand. Read more

My sweet and sexy wife gave me these Ranger gels for Christmas. Coming from a pro motocross background, I've always worn Fox MX gloves for mountain biking because they offer a good balance of protection, control and durability. I normally get one full year (2,500 miles) of mountain biking out of Fox MX gloves before they wear out, primarily with holes developing in the index fingers where I ride the brake levers. Never any issues with stitching or rips unless I crash, or if I cram my hands into gloves that are too small. The Rangers appear to be of the same quality as their MX gloves. Not too thick like a gardening glove or too thin like a golf glove. The Rangers will save my hands in a crash, but maybe only once. I don't crash much, maybe once a year, but I treat gloves and helmets like crush zone items that may need replacement after a single fall. Gloves that can survive a belly slide accross gravel are usually too heavy duty to provide the dexterity and ventilation I want while riding. Fox gloves may not be the best option if you step off a lot. I never gave the Rangers serious consideration because the few times I tried MTB gloves they fell short of Fox MX gloves in some way. MTB gloves are often made of thinner, less durable materials, and often have too little or too much material in the palm area. The Rangers are well balanced in this respect, and more like Fox's better MX gloves in overall fit, function and materials. The gel pads in the palm area of the Rangers are a pleasant surprise, eliminating hand numbness I've been getting on long rides from my Renthal bars with minimal sweep. Unlike other padded gloves I've tried, the Rangers do not negatively affect my grip or hand dexterity. The gel padding allows more comfortable variations in hand placement for long XC rides. The only shortfall the Rangers have compared to Fox MX gloves is the lack of padding on the tops of the fingers. This provides roost protection in an MX glove, but mountain bikes don't throw shotgun blasts of rocks and dirt clods at you like a 450 motocrosser. Nevertheless, I've come to appreciate the extra finger protection of Fox MX gloves when my hands hit branches and brush on the trail. The Rangers do have full finger coverage, offering at least some protection. The Ranger palm padding outweighs the lack of finger protection for me. These do run a size small compared to other Fox gloves. The finger tips provide good screen sensitivity with my smart phone. The fit is snug and conforms well to the shape of my hand with no hot spots or uncomfortable seams. They breathe well but will retain moisture and get soggy if you get your hands wet. Overall, I am pleasantly surprised by the Ranger gel gloves and hope to get another fresh pair next Christmas. Read more
