Frontcountry Bed 20 Sleeping Bag

I bought this to use in my 5 Owls cowboy bedroll. I set up the bedroll on a cot and inserted the bag to check fit and do a roll up to see how it carried. This bag solves a couple of annoying problems (for me) that I always had with zippered bags. 1. I move/roll around a lot when I sleep. Unless a bag is zipped up all the way, it will gradually unzip and I wake up fully uncovered rather than partially uncovered. With this bag you can roll around and stay covered, 2. Moving around in my sleep also means I tend to roll off the sleeping pad. The pad holder in this bag is great as it keeps the pad under you. You can't really roll off the pad without rolling the entire bag and pad over with you. Have not tested the bag at design temperatures yet, but so far the bag has been great. Read more

What can be better than a zipperless sleeping bag! I put it to the test over a weekend camp trip. It was so so so snugly warm and comfortable. Freedom of movement GALORE! If you flip-flop around a lot while you sleep, this bag will accommodate you! If I hadn't spent so much money on my zip-up down mummy bag, I'd just give it away. The zippered mummy bag goes into the emergency bugout bag now! I really, really like this sleep bag. Have you ever got the zipper jammed when you needed a toilet break in the middle of the night? Three days ago, I hated sleeping bags. I was prepared to live a life of bedrolls and cold feet, but the internet insisted this was for people like me. The internet was right on this one! I did not feel restricted, I could sleep in my side, my stomach, all over. Even without using a mat in the bottom, the bag did not tangle when I turned. The hand pockets in the corners are fantastic. Stomach sleepers, the hood is a great place for your arms! It was 40 degrees out and I was toasty in a tee and pajama pants. I accidentally kicked my feet out once over two nights, and it was an easy learning curve to keep them in. I’d give it more stars. All the stars. I love this thing. Read more

This zipperless design is an absolute dream for a plus sized old bones camper like me. I love the ease of being able to pop my feet out for temperature adjustment, and the comfort of having covers under my chin regardless of how I toss and turn. Zippers have always been difficult for me in sleeping bags. This design is wonderful. Easy to get in and out, no zipping, just pull the sides up and you are tucked in. Wonderful at 40 degrees my first night. I was warm as toast and the head area made that possible. Well designed. The feature to be able to kick your feet out when too warm is brillliant.
