Pros: Metal case. 3 good (not spec grade) replaceable standard 15A receptacles (Only need to remove wings and rewire ground). Wall mountable in three directions. Cons: Backstab wiring for receptacles. No PCB coating for corrosion. It uses 0.8 watts mostly due to the safety relay that draws 0.6 watts. When you plug in to power at any event, you really are not sure "where that power has been". I cannot explain "ground loops" and what appliances cause audio hum or not. The first and most noticeable aspect of this Furman Voltage Protect Surge Strip is the design. This feels very heavy duty and sturdy with a lot of metal. It just feels like it is built like a tank and will last a long time. It is worlds away from a typical cheap plastic power strip / surge protector. The most important advantage of using this is when you plug all components in your setup into this same strip. It can not only protect your expensive electronics, but it can also lower the background noise in your signal. I really appreciate the design of this surge protector. The plugs are placed further apart from each other which is very convenient to fit multiple large power adapters on this strip. Large adapters are very common with power supplies and the types of devices that are used for music recording and creation. I have no complaints the build quality is great. The "clean power" and reduction of noise in your instrument signal path are huge wins. I would recommend giving this a try if you have pricey gear you would like to protect and also if you are serious about trying to improve your signal and sound for recording. Read more
