Purchased for our 5 mos old grandson who was coming to stay with us for 4 days in the summer. Hat works very well, he doesn't take it off, and there is a method of adjusting the hat size on the back of the hat. In addition, the chin strap can be tightened if needed. This hat is perfect! I ordered the 6-24month size for my 6 month old. When I took it out of the package, it looked a bit big, but with the adjustment feature it ended up fitting perfectly! He will definitely have room to grow in it, too. The fabric is soft, including the lining. He kept trying to rip it off, but between the elastic around the head and adjustable chin strap, it stayed put. Very functional, kept the sun out of his face.
