I bought this to use with a puffer jacket without a hood. I wasn't sure what I would get. The picture shows a lot of Orange which didn't appeal to me. The actual product however is all gray, exactly what I wanted. So easy to put on and take off with the zipper. It's thick, water repellent and you can wear it around your neck when you're not using it for a hood. It's exactly what I wanted! Read more

I am a big guy, this was way to small for my head. Only one size. Double the size of it and it would have been perfect. It fits my 12 year old daughter, but im sure she will out grow it in a few years. Read more

I grabbed one of these to go with a jacket that does not have a hood. It's very warm and cozy, and stays tucked into the jacket's collar just fine. There's no getting around that this balaclava is pretty bulky. It doesn't quite feel like you're wearing a neck brace, but it's close. Honestly, no worse than a scarf. I like how the hood and neck/face portions are separate, allowing you to lower the hood while keeping your face, ears, and back of your neck warm. The fleece lining is very soft. Not only is it very warm, but water beads up and rolls right off. Wind also doesn't go through at all. I think my only complaint is how long the drawstring is, but I could probably shorten it if I were crafty enough. The design also causes your breath to go up and potentially fog your glasses, but that's not unique to this particular balaclava. Quality is super high. It just feels well made, and I couldn't find any imperfections in fabrics or stitching. Care instructions say to hand wash and not to tumble dry, but it also has an icon for machine wash gentle cycle with warm water and tumble dry on low. Personally, I think machine washing would be fine as long as you put it in a mesh garment bag. I'd definitely recommend this if you need to keep your head warm in very cold weather. It's a little bulky, but that's expected for how well-insulated it is. Read more

Seems well made, but fits small. I have a pretty small head, but I could barely zip it up. Read more

There is a deep fear among Chicagoans for the Cold. We bask in its extremeness and congratulate ourselves on surviving such a tough environment, where walking to work tests your ability to endure pain. Enter this hat: it’s lined in fleece and has a tough, nylon outside. It’s windproof and waterproof. The zipper is a little fiddly to put on so I would secure it indoors, before my fingers freeze. There is no way to wear makeup under it without making a mess because the collar covers your cheeks, which is welcome when there is a bracing wind. I bought this hat in anticipation of the winter during the fall so I wasn’t able to test it in the Cold. I would recommend it, however, based on how it feels. Read more
