Very good quality visor that helped greatly to prevent any sunburns in the Florida sun last summer. I wear sunscreen every day, but this hat filtered out probably 95% of the sun's rays. I love this hat! It saved me during a heat wave and kept me from getting a sunburn on my face and ears (it has great ear coverage!) It's nice and soft so that you can roll it and put it in your pocket and when you wear it it doesn't show any signs of being folded. EDIT: This is still a very cute hat, but be aware that the elastic in the back stretches out quickly with just regular use. If it gets wet at all, the elastic stretches out even faster. I’m trying to figure out how to mitigate this situation because the hat is still in perfect shape. Maybe a stitch or two will help. Be warned! As far as beach hats go, I have always worn one with a full brim. When lounging in the sun, that has caused problems for me comfort wise. I decided to take a chance on this hat. I liked that it has no brim in the back so I can lean back on the beach chair with ease. This purchase proved to be perfect. I have a larger head and there was ample room to adjust the hat comfortably. The brim in the front was quite large and provided protection for my face. Because there is no top, I did sunburn my scalp and had to wear a bandana scarf on my head under the hat for my remaining vacation. (It still looked cute!) I also had to be diligent with the sunscreen on my neck and ears in order not to burn since there is no back brim. Provides great sun coverage for face and ears, while allowing me to keep my hair up out of the way. Rolls up nicely for storage or packing, and has so far held up well for a few trips to the waterpark. My only complaint is that upon unrolling to use it for the first time, the strap was barely attached to itself with the stitching. Not only would the strap have been not adjustable, but it would have likely broken entirely and been unusable the first time I put it on my head. I’m glad I noticed it before our trip and have sewing skills to quickly fix it, but it was disappointing to have it almost broken right out of the box. Read more
